They took a month to get me my card.  The AF posted before I had it.  I sent a SM that I believed charging an AF, annual being 12 months when I was only going to get 11 months usage was unfair.  Received a statement credit for full amount.
Awesome

Has anyone had any luck waiving the annual fee for the second year? (I got the first year free with the promo.) Just got charged the annual fee and want to cancel the card if I have to pay it.
I just tried by SM, and was denied. Is it worth trying again?

If I do have to cancel, anyone know if the card is able to be downgraded to a Freedom or something else?
I have the exact same question now. Anyone have any info on this? Thanks.

From what they told me, everything is basically in the hands of British Airways. And BA prob can't do anything without chase. So highly unlikely u can get anything.

Is there any reason to keep this card once the AF hits? My Avios are safe even if I close it, right? How about closing and churning? How has that been working with this card?

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure I understand. You're saying there is no 24 month waiting period, and I can get the bonus right away if I use a new FFN, and Chase is not difficult about giving a new card (despite the recent difficulty with UR cards). Is that right? But doesn't the FFN get issued along with the card? Also, isn't that strange to have 2 FFNs on the same name?

You can create a FFN on BA.com before applying for the card and use that FFN in the app.

You can merge them after you get the bonus.

Ok, I got it. Thanks.
So as far as Chase is concerned, the application & bonus are related to the FFN, so there's no reason for them not to approve (assuming good credit, of course)? And a multitude of Chase UR cards is not a factor here?

If you are using a different FFN, do you even need to cancel the current card first? In other words, theoretically, you can have unlimited BA cards, no?

Approval has nothing to do with bonus.

Technically you can, but it's not easy to get approved for a card you already have.

Good point. Here's my question: Does Chase have any problem approving a BA card to someone who just had it, and has several UR cards. They've been very tough lately on UR cards.
