YMMV (since Aug. '14, no one on this thread has reported successfully getting a better offer than the regular 50k (AF waived) offer linked above):
SM Chase before and/or after getting the card and they will often waive the $95 yearly fee for the first year.
SM Chase before and/or after getting the card and they will match to the offer to get 50,000 bonus Avios for spending $2,000, another 25,000 bonus Avios after you make $10,000 in purchases within the first year of account opening., and another 25,000 bonus Avios after you make an additional $10,000 in purchases also within the first year of account opening.
Total bonus Avios for $20K spend=100,000
Total Avios for base spending at 1.25 Avios per dollar spent=25K.
Total Avios=125K.

150k AMEX is in another league than 50k BA (earned for the $18k added spend).
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

UPDATE: Unsuccessful on my first attempt. Now it's time to HUTA.

Does HUTA'ing get you high?  ;)

I was successful in getting the 50k for $2k spend, +25k for +$8k spend and +25k for +$10k spend (total: 100k bonus points for $20k spend) from BA via SM.

At first I was turned down, as reported by others up thread, but I persisted and got it without too much extra trouble.

Anyone else have success with a 100K or annual fee waiver match via Twitter?

Tried tweeting after seeing success in this thread. They wanted the RSVP number on the offer, which I didn't have. I attached the screenshot made available on this thread, but they said they couldn't view photos on twitter, and suggested that I send an SM. I just sent it, and will let you know of the results.

Thanks

I got the BA card last September and a month later when the 100k offer came out I requested a match via SM. They said they agree to match it but since the last 50k is dependent on spend, I should SM them after hitting the threshold. Now I SM them and they say they can't find the OM.
Duh, SMs get deleted after 3(4?) months.
Is there anything to do?

ETA: the only documentation I have is the e-mail saying there is an SM in my inbox regarding Rewards Inquiry

Don't you have to hit the 20K spend in the first Calendar year?

So then why you telling him to HUCA, he missed the timeframe.

Isn't September (a year for him) in two months?

Oh, maybe it's calendar year. If so, I stand corrected.

I'm a so lost, I asked it its calendar year and you said yes, if that's so then HUCA will not help as he's over 6 months too late. OTOH if it goes by cardmember year then he should HUCA.

Nothing to get lost over. As I was writing the first sentence of my post, I was assuming we were operating by full year (12 months), but then realized that the OP said that the offer requires the spending threshold to be hit within calendar year (btw, I don't think this is correct). Anyway, you are correct. If the spending threshold must be reached within the first calendar year, HUCA will be a waste of time. However, if the spending threshold must be reached within 12 months of approval, HUCA will help.

Sorry about the confusion.

Wow. Pretty charif. I am just trying to help someone out. Also, I don't give a cra* about my number of posts.

Anyway, now onto your question. See the screenshot, which explicitly states 12 months from account opening.

I asked it as a question, is it calendar year and you said that is correct and then you said its not correct, they both can't be true.

That is incorrect. I spelled out two options in my first response, and their respective ramifications. Anyway, it's all semantics now as in my previous post I actually answered the question.

Try to send the SM again and try to HUTA. The first time it didn't work with twitter, but I just tried again, and I think it'll work this time. Send them a screenshot. If that doesn't work, send another SM. It never hurts to try again.
