Read it all at the time, just a silly person who hasn't a clue about flying. 'Never fly AA', as if she has any idea what other airlines practices are, a lot of what she said makes no sense even if we leave industry standards aside.

Oy, I saw this on FT Eruv Yomtov and I was so embarrassed on her behalf. All the Ft'ers were making fun of her and scolding her. Cringe-worthy

You should be able to rely, and enforce whatever a (even stupid) rep tells you.

although its the rule, you cannot expect someone taking a plane to read all its rules of carriage.

(obviously standards such as not taking a bomb aboard is self understood)

It's frustrating when these clueless reps in india making $7.22 an hour are who we must rely on (and hope we get accurate info from). Not the airlines fault per-se, but still annoying

I actually just had a (surprisingly) pleasant experience today with AA at JFK:
I escorted some passengers to make sure they would get on their flight OK because their ticket was somewhat "complicated", they were on coach but they were wrongly directed to checkin are "1" which is for Business and 1st, once at the entrance they were waived in regardels of them saying that they were on coah, plus I was allowed to accompany them to the counter. Checked in with no lines and, best of all, they were allowed to take an additional bag for free, which they originally had in mind to pay, even though the agent originally mentioned the baggage restriction they later did nothing and checked everything in no problem.

wow is she lucky it wasent delta as delta closes check in like 45 min. before the flight and they charge $50 to go standby for the next flight

The funny difference between you and "the curious jew" is that although AA acted correctly in both cases (aside from giving her free standby), YOU knew what you were doing.

Did you get your tickets through BA? because in that case it will always give you automatic Priority Access due to some bug in the system.

I don't remember clearly (I'm elite so get priority regardless) but I'm pretty sure that is inaccurate.
