I took at a flight in July from HKG on Dragon Air exactly 2 hours after Shabbos. It was very close but we made it. We actually took a taxi straight from the hotel cause we thought that we might miss the last check-in at the train station. Trip is about a half hour by taxi

which hotel did you stay in? im assuming theyre going to throw me out of my room at 4pm. i guess ill have my bags packed before shabbos so when they throw me out theyll also bring down my suitcases so ill be all ready to go the second shabbos ends

Was at the Shangri-La. They know about Shabbos and they let me check out at 7:30. If you ask nicely most hotels will

I suggest contacting Chabad in HogQiao, (Shanghai) to book you rooms at the Millenium hotel just down the block from them. They get very good rates. Also, the Sheraton (I think) in HongQiao is a 45 minute walk away if you must stay spg.
Chabad has breakfast after 7am shachris each morning, as well as a dinner and lunch menu each day.

Not sure how much time your spending there, I made some clothing at the fabric market, and did a lot of walking through the various parts of the city. Check out a Fodor's guide (or other recent travel guide book from your local library for ideas.)

mainly 150,000 aa miles plus $240 taxes (i have some small flights within some countries too, for about $350)

i stayed at the Bishop Lei Intl, in a suite which was quite sweet.

Receptionist where mostly retards, but if you want to use the business center (5 sq ft with internet) - on the left side, behind the reception -, just say that the guy* 'from yesterday' at the reception told you because the wifi doesn't work with smartphones** you can use the internet for free.

Printer is always out of paper. Don't ask for it, as they wanted some ridiculous HK$30 per page. just look at the cupboard opposite the second pc (you may need to bend) inside you will find plenty.

Happy to hear you had a nice trip. Please post a tripreport as soon as possible. I am of to Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong next week and it would be great to get some last minute updates. Lets hope flights operate again on the 25.
