I prefer a transfer to UA because there's a huge market of brokers for their currency (travel agents) unlike other affiliated loyalty program.
UR is the same rate as UA when selling?

Depends how much you have. If its below 100k or 150k, than URs are worth more, but if you have more than that, they're mostly almost the same.

Besides I think UA has a higher element of risk since booking tickets for other people from your account can result in termination.

Broker told me
Aha. A broker would issuing tickets like no tomorrow and look shady like all hell. Many people have issued awards from their UA accounts with no issue at all.

300K is less worth than 100K united IMO.

Most united redemption's range between 100K-140K, so an account that size is very reasonable, and is not risky, being that you're only redeeming for one ticket. 300K, they'll have to redeem for 2-3 tickets, which can result in red-flagging the account.

Vs. UR that can be transferred or topped off to different account, the bigger the account is the more it's valuable

So what are people doing?
Transferring to UA? Hyatt? Korean? BA? Splitting them between them? Keeping them in UR in hopes of a future promotion or more travel partners?

The fact that question even needs to be asked is a (big) mark against Chase.

I've got 600K sitting around.
Seems foolish to just let them all sit there, but I just don't know what do to with 'em or how many to leave put.

I'd love to one day sit down with you and hear how it is you got that many. And we know there was a lot more if 600K are your 'leftovers'.

:)
We should all have such problems!!
