Just applied for the WMC for my upcoming Israel trip IYH!

Which agancies will wave insurance in TLV? Avis, Hertz, Budget or all of them?

Also, what exactly is waived? Is it CDW, ILS or TP? (As you can realize I'm not a big maven...

)

Does anyone know if the WMC insurance is limited to max 2 weeks of rental? I need the car for a month...

It will only cover CDW and it doesn't make a difference which company you rent from, good luck.

i had budget flat out deny me for any coverage from my wmc.
i had booked through noach car- he has great deals but he told me they would not cover.
I tried- no luck.
dont know why.

It seems like Yossi wasn't able to do so with Avis

In the US 2 weeks Internationally 30 days.

For a car rental in Israel you must have CDW and LI-3rd party insurances.

The MCW covers only the CDW pert ($4-8/day) and not the LI part ($9-20/day).

The card should cover up to 21 days in Israel (maybe 24-25d, but definitely not 26d+).

It works with Hertz&Avis no prob. with Budget could work when booking via Budget.com but the total (!!) will be better (or much better) via Hertz or Avis.

Also worth noting that the $4-$8/day CDW the rental agencies sell you still carry large deductibles that they will always try to get you for.
The CDW from most WMCs (CO/UA being a notable exclusion) carry no deductible.

Could be, but a 'monthly rate' rental in Israel includes CDW+LI insurances, and is not cheaper if using a WMC.

So in case of damage to the car (C"V) what do you do?
Since you didn't purchase their CDW - they charge like a crazy amount on your card for the damage and then when you return home the credit card company cancel the charge/ reimburse you?
Is this the way it works? Ever happened to you?

Your card reimburses you.
When it happened to me Avis TLV wouldn't cooperate with the CDW investigation so my CC couldn't cut me a check. Instead I filed a chargeback against Avis (for the amount of the claimed damage) for not cooperating with the CDW investigation and I won as they didn't cooperate with the chargeback investigation either

Dan, the saphire preferred t&c papers that come with the card, are those the right ones for CDW coverage? Or are there seperate ones from MC? Because in those T&c it says Israel is excluded.

if its a WMC it should be covered. check on top of the paper if it says WMC or just MC.

I have a feeling that the sapphire has on standard T&C for visa and MC, although MC world has better benefits.
