Any recent experiences on weather you need can begin at ewr for an ex-zfv route? Considering booking for tomorrow.

My inlaws recently flew ZFV - TLV and they actually went to ZFV for the outbound, and they said that it was actually required as United has or may ask for proof of travel (I believe they said that because Amtrak now works with e-tickets, they can now see everything in the computer)

looking to book lax-zfv and need to end up in phl. want to board an earlier amtrak train leaving from ewr than shown on ticket. for some reason its only giving me a train that is 90+ mins after landing. im not checking bags so dont see any reason why i can't make an earlier one. any news if amtrak will honor ticket if i board an earlier train?

Your best bet for all of these questions is to look on FT

Flying OW lax-ewr-zfv. I plan on skipping the EWR-ZFV segment and I'm unfamiliar with how the train connection works- can I just exit EWR upon landing, or is there necessity to print an Amtrak BP/ get scanned somewhere?

If zfw is the last leg of the entire itenarary, you can just skip it. your luggage should be with everyone else's by baggage claim.

One more question: for the reverse (ZFV-EWR-LAX), if I'm successful at printing the Amtrak ticket at NY Penn Station, is it correct that at that point I will not need to actually board the ZFV-EWR leg?

I will be in Manhattan and would rather just take the train straight from Penn Station, rather than traveling to Philly to board the ZFV-EWR portion.

What will you do if the train is full at that point and you're going to miss your flight?

Which train, ZFV-EWR or NY Penn-EWR?

ZFV-EWR which makes a stop in Penn station.

I never traveled this route, I'm just assuming it's one train and there's a possibility you might get stuck.

ZFV-EWR does not stop in NY penn station. Maybe you're thinking or Newark Penn Station, which is the stop after EWR.

Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks for the correction. Now for someone who actually knows the answer to your question to answer.

Found the answer in FT. For anyone wondering, chances are high they will cancel connecting segment, unless connection time is short enough that they may not catch it in time.
Looks like I'll be heading to Philly.

Is there any more recent data points on whether you can catch the train segment somewhere closer to EWR and then board the plane or miss train altogether

Hi,

if I made a ticket from ZFV, do I have to board the ZFV train? or just pick up the tickets? can the tickets be picked up at any location? like lets say Newark?
