Because of the fear, that perhaps UA will cancel the ticket, especially if originates in ZFV, why not hop onto train in Metropark, NJ (the stop b4 EWR), the conductor will scan the ticket and you should be all set. And the other way around as well.
Anyone know if this is feasible?

i have done it before, amtrak cant use a united confirmation to pull up a ticket. they dont even know if its connected

Just unbelievable...
Tomorrow EWR-FLL: cheapest non stop on United is $342, add ZFV = just $107.
For me this was the most useful tool learned at the DD seminar.
