Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

If true, it looks like Chase is copying the Amex Plat/Gold and Cap One Venture X and making the business Sapphire Reserve a near-clone of the personal one, making for a very tough use-case for having both.

Sapphire reserve business is a bit more compelling if you use Google workspace anyways. You get your $200 right back.

Quibbling. At the end of the day, unless you have a specific use-case, it's going to be hard to justify either version of the card for most people/businesses. I am sure someone is about to jump on and say how amazing/useful/awesome x new feature is, and I am so short-sighted for not seeing it.  ::)

As am aside, I find it interesting how Chase and Amex went about trying to convince people to spend money on their super-premium cards. (Reserve/Platinum.) Chase: Spend $75K, get status and more coupon book! Amex, spend $75K, get lounge access! At least with the Amex, you can get 1.5x on everyday spending if it's over $10k at a shot...

Im with you. I am out on Chase spend, after this. Not sure where to go. Maybe Cash back? I will keep my card thru next year, as i need to liquidate my points, and my renewal is Oct 1, so i dont get hit until next year.

I would still keep the spend, but get rid of the high-fee cards. It looks like the mid-tier cards (Preferred) are going to be the place to go for most people going forward. unless and until they start to butcher those too.

At 1 c pp, i would rather a cash back card. What advantage do is there for everyday spend?

Not for the earning side, but for the using side. The preferred will keep your access to transfers alive. They're not as good as they used to be, but you can occasionally still find outsized value.

I think that's in the plans.  Is there any place that can educate me on CapOne and Citi options?  The 1.5 is the only reason I am with Chase.

What happens to points that are in a CSR account 10/26/25 and then downgrade that card to CSP, will the redemption rate be 1.25?

Use your Chase points to get Aeroplan miles when there is a transfer bonus and PYB on all travel booked on an Aeroplan card at an effective rate of up to 1.6 for your UR. Best way to get cash value for UR.

200K cap.

Also need to reduce the 1.6 value by the card's AF if you're just keeping it for PYB.

Get another for spouse and you have 400k

True, though can still comfortably be over l.5 if you are maximizing the redemption. For anyone who was with the Reserve for the PYB value this should be a no brainer.
