I believe Amex usually does not match but I called yesterday and they gave me $50 credit on my Amex Simply Business card since there is now a $300 credit public offer instead of the $250 I got

Lucky you. I called and asked them to match for my ED card because the 25k link came out right after I signed up for 10k and no dice.

Nothing. I tried. Even spoke to supervisor.

And I've spent about $50k across my various Amex cards over the past year.

Actually after giving up on retention I had to call a couple of times to get it downgraded as they claimed its not an option. In the end i got a guy to give me the downgraded version of UA card.

Strange. I downgraded 2 in the past few weeks and had no issue

on the amex cards can u get every year a retention bonus or only once? I got last year 15k for keeping open my premier gold card are they ussualy giving it again or I shouldn't even try?

Did you get the alternative offer of 15k for $3k spend?

When I called they offer a choice of the two.

Called for I my IP,was hoping to get the 10k/5k offer in light of next week's staples promo, got my annual waived instead, annual was due at the end of the month (payed first annual during the 70k sign up offer last year, got the 10k/5k offer six months later)

I called Barclaycard today regarding my Hawaiian Airlines MasterCard and expressed my sadness that the 50,000 mile offer just came out after I signed up with 35,000 mile offer in July.

I asked for the 15000 mile difference and even offer to meet the current spend requirement, or, in the alternative I asked if there are any other offers with additional spend requirements.

I was given 7500 miles gratuitously with no additional spend requirements.
