I'm trying to summarize success stories mentioned in this thread.
From @TC610
It never hurts to ask - retention is a big YMMV.  If you don't like the offer given to you when you call for retention, ask for a better one.  Scan through the thread (use the search bar - reading through 130+ pages of posts can be time consuming) to see what others have been offered. Please post what you've got if its better then whats in the WIKI

Has anyone here managed to get the AF waived on their Ink right after you got approved for the card?

I downgraded within 60 after paying AF on Plat and MB Plat before statement closes to a PRG. I then had the statement close. I received the AF back but was charged for the PRG AF. I then eventually closed that. I then went on to receive the PRG AF back as well.
With Amex whenever I downgraded it was automatically prorated. Whenever I cancelled it was a full refund.

Yes.  I mentioned there was an in-branch offer for no AF even though the online offer did not waive the AF, and they waived the AF immediately.

Tried SM, failed.  Then phone, worked.

Called. First rep said no, transferred to supervisor who looked at my account (whatever that means) and said there's nothing that she can do but offered to escalate it to another department who will be reaching out to me by phone within 5-7 business days. Any shot at them waiving it or waste of time?

Received bonus on Personal Plat last week.  Now hit with PRG AF and want to call for bonus, but have little spend history and don't want to raise questions re PGGM (is that a legit concern?).  Best to just DG/close?

Shouldn't be a concern. It's not obvious to phone reps and not much they can do if they do understand. It may affect your chances of getting a retention offer though as Amex has its own customer value algorithm. No telling whether that's in the calculation though
Think away the box.

I just called for retention on my Citi AA Executive. They offered me $50 statement credit for each of the next 7 months which I spend $1500. Total $350.
I remember having a hard time last year getting it. Is it standard now?

Amex Biz Platinum, 25K MR points, no spending requirement.

My AF won't post until June and I'm going to close the card.

Occasionally
Just got $60 for CSP.  I still may downgrade it to a Freedom after the Statement Credit posts but this buys me some time. Not sure what value it offers me over the Freedom.
