Offered the same on the Hilton, declined and closed card.
AA exec $50 statement credit every month after $1500 spend up to $350.

you don't have to keep it open. Collect the 10k points and then close the account.

10k MR ain't worth $450, but how about another $200 Travel Credit

Now with the changes to the cancellation policy not sure I can cancel to much longer after paying the AF.

They can escalate and give retention. Doesn't mean calling isn't easier but they certainly can.
