Topic Wiki

I'm trying to summarize success stories mentioned in this thread.
From @TC610
It never hurts to ask - retention is a big YMMV.  If you don't like the offer given to you when you call for retention, ask for a better one.  Scan through the thread (use the search bar - reading through 130+ pages of posts can be time consuming) to see what others have been offered. Please post what you've got if its better then whats in the WIKI

No, not at all, BH. From what I read here somewhere about the RATS.

Are you sure that was an FR and not a clawback?

Are the 3k MR that phone reps give considered a "retention offer" and they get upset if you close the card?

Not if it's a regular frontline rep.

I believe it's just goodwill bonuses.

As far as I understand, specifically the Platinum card..
im not saying it will for sure but it definitely causes them to look at the account and once they start looking all bets are off

Called for another Retention and who do I get another rep from Tampa bay.. willing to help but said they would need the Membership consulting(MR department) which is closed now and opens at 8am, but from what I can see with the overall history, you can definitely qualify for some type of retention.

Curios to know is it common for an AF to be waived entirely?
Don't try to be someone else , be who you are because everyone else is taken.

Cit Prestige offered either $200 credit for spending 4k x 3 months, or 10k TYP for spending 3k within 6 months. Doesn't seem worth it to me. Am I making a mistake?

:)  HUCA?
personally I never got much retention from Citi. Others may have had better luck.
