Topic Wiki

I'm trying to summarize success stories mentioned in this thread.
From @TC610
It never hurts to ask - retention is a big YMMV.  If you don't like the offer given to you when you call for retention, ask for a better one.  Scan through the thread (use the search bar - reading through 130+ pages of posts can be time consuming) to see what others have been offered. Please post what you've got if its better then whats in the WIKI

How much spend were you putting on it?
Is there really something with the spend or it's just a myth?

Sometimes they'll give an offer that correlates directly to the amount you spent in the last month. When it's (seemingly) random, I don't think anyone knows for sure, but it seems plausible that it should still depend on how much you spend

What you took is pretty good, especially if you have the $350 version of the account.

My spg annual fee is coming up soon, any chance of getting another retention bonus if I just got one a few months ago? Is it possible to get 2 bonuses in a year?

Got nothing on Ink Visa.  Does it pay to downgrade if I'm planning to re-apply in a few months or should I just cancel?

Chase Ink Visa.  Not the preferred one.  I think it used to be called Ink Plus.
