Topic Wiki

I'm trying to summarize success stories mentioned in this thread.
From @TC610
It never hurts to ask - retention is a big YMMV.  If you don't like the offer given to you when you call for retention, ask for a better one.  Scan through the thread (use the search bar - reading through 130+ pages of posts can be time consuming) to see what others have been offered. Please post what you've got if its better then whats in the WIKI

Any data points on Chase Marriott?

For some reason I received the free night before the annul fee posted. If I cancel will they remove the mariott free night voucher?

Is there any way to downgrade the chase marriott to a no annual fee card?
SM responded that at this time they can not change my account to a no annual fee card.

IME the offer(s) will either be in your account, or they won't. The rep can choose to tell you about them, or if multiple, which to offer you.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

Did anyone here get a retention offer in the last 2 years on the same card that was less than 13 months apart? It seems to me that it's a hard and fast rule. Unless there are exceptions for super high spenders or similar perhaps?

Recent call yielded 10k immediately, plus 20k after $6,000 spend within 90 days for SPG Biz card (rep couldn't stop laughing each time she read Bonvoy in the T&C's). Two Biz Plats had nothing yet. Will call again past 13 months.
