I'm trying to summarize success stories mentioned in this thread.
From @TC610
It never hurts to ask - retention is a big YMMV.  If you don't like the offer given to you when you call for retention, ask for a better one.  Scan through the thread (use the search bar - reading through 130+ pages of posts can be time consuming) to see what others have been offered. Please post what you've got if its better then whats in the WIKI

I said, "I don't use it that much and there's this annual fee, is there any retention bonus you can offer to help me keep this card?"

Seriously?? P2 just called yesterday and they offered nothing other than to close it down. How much spend do you have on it?

No waiver after multiple calls and escalations to manager for Barclays Arrival Premier.  I did get them to waive an interest charge from a few months back of about half the AF when I had to carry a high balance for one month, which was enough for me to keep it another year (it ends up net positive after the two annual loyalty spend milestones).

AMEX Personal Plat

1) $300 statement credit for 2k spend over 3 months
2) 30k points no spend

if anything i will take points, but i am not sure if i should go for it. even though now that am thinking about it

$200 in streming and wireless,
$200 in new airline credit (tickets)
$200 in old airline credits (which i have had succses in useing)
uber and saks for whetever their worth

and it seems hard to say no. and of course while I am not ready to pay anything for the lounges in cash, it's always nice to have them as a bonus

Both me and my wife got it after just one call for each, almost no spend on the cards.

american express Marriott (old spg) 30,000 bonvoy points to keep open
no spend required
(better than spending $2,500 in three months for $100 credit - i think)

I'd take the points. Is this the personal or biz version?

5k for spending $1k, or annual fee waived/rebated for spending $1k
