I'm trying to summarize success stories mentioned in this thread.
From @TC610
It never hurts to ask - retention is a big YMMV.  If you don't like the offer given to you when you call for retention, ask for a better one.  Scan through the thread (use the search bar - reading through 130+ pages of posts can be time consuming) to see what others have been offered. Please post what you've got if its better then whats in the WIKI

Getting retention on the biz has nothing to do with closing the PRG.

I know, but is it worth closing the personal and assume the biz will offer a retention ? the Biz PRG is still in its first year ?

The retention on the biz is a YMMV but that doesn't depend on whether you close the personal or not.

I called Citi regarding my old HH (no AF), which I haven't used in a year, and got an offer for 5K HH after spending $1500.

I then proceeded to ask about all my Citi cards.

Prestige, opened mid-Nov 2015, spent the initial $3K very quickly, then light spend here and there until I made a couple hotel reservations in the past month through the 4th night free program. Total spend about $5K. No offers.

Premier, opened Aug 2015. Hit the initial spend quickly, then with a few large purchases ($2500+) since then. Offered 5000 TYP for spending $1000 in 6 months. The only other offer is 5000 TYP for spending the same $1K in 3 months. I took the 6 month offer.

Forward, which I've had for a long time. No offers. I got an offer last July for 15K TYP for spending $4K (or was it $6K), which I achieved.

Citi AA, which I've had since 2011. I got the $95 statement credit and extra 1K AA miles for $1K spend every month last August, same offer a lot of people got. The rep could see this offer and said nothing new.

Overall, 2 relatively lackluster offers out of 5 cards. I have a big trip coming up and I really wanted a big offer for my Pretige of Premier card.

Maybe Citi is cutting down on the really great retention bonus    people were getting in the past couple of years. Or maybe my spending habits aren't what they need to be.

Is it easy to get offer on Chase Ritz card? A few people reported getting free cat 1-4 for 5k spend. Is that a standard offer? I barely used the card besides initial spend and pggm for travel credit

On my Barclay's Aviator, the first rep did not want to waive the fee, but i got it the next time i HUCA'd, plus either 5,000 points for 1,000 spend in 90 days or 2x points on gas & groceries.

My wife just called for her Prestige. Light intermittent spend. Card signed up 4/15, then $350 AF renewed 8/15 when she got CG checking. CG since downgraded. This was her first ever call for this and it's her only Citi card. 4 offers.

1. $200 statement credit for $4k/3 mo. That's 5% extra cash on all categories.

2. 4 extra TYP per $ on restaurants.

3. 4 extra TYP on airlines, hotels, travel agencies.

4. 4 extra TYP on drug stores, groceries, gas stations.

#2-4 capped at extra 50k TYP.

I would've chosen #4 for myself but my wife doesn't do MS. I have the 5x Forward card so #2 didn't make sense. And we don't spend enough on travel to take advantage of #3, so we chose #1.

Or find a drug store that won't ID for gift cards, I know it's easier said then done.

(also got 3k a month ago when i tried and they told me my fee didnt post yet so i cant get any, but random token of appreciation)
has anyone gotten more than 3K lately, strictly related to retention?
also, i didnt call the retention number, do ppl have more success going that route?
