I'm trying to summarize success stories mentioned in this thread.
From @TC610
It never hurts to ask - retention is a big YMMV.  If you don't like the offer given to you when you call for retention, ask for a better one.  Scan through the thread (use the search bar - reading through 130+ pages of posts can be time consuming) to see what others have been offered. Please post what you've got if its better then whats in the WIKI

Its all YMMV. CSP is tough

Just got $60 for CSP.  I still may downgrade it to a Freedom after the Statement Credit posts but this buys me some time. Not sure what value it offers me over the Freedom.

first I'm hearing in a long time of a CSP credit. how easy was it, what did you say and how much spend do you put on the card?

I do a couple thousand a month of travel and restaurants.  I told him I want to downgrade to Freedom unless there's a retention offer on it. He looked and said there's $60.  I asked if I said no to that if there would be a followup offer.  He said no, that $60 was the best that's out there.

He's probably right about $60 being the best out there.

And without the $95 credit you would have actually closed it?

250k UR a year isn't worth $95 to you?

You said you called to cancel it and only decided to keep it open upon being offered the $95. Sounds like you would have cancelled it otherwise.

My point is, I wouldn't.
