Topic Wiki

I'm trying to summarize success stories mentioned in this thread.
From @TC610
It never hurts to ask - retention is a big YMMV.  If you don't like the offer given to you when you call for retention, ask for a better one.  Scan through the thread (use the search bar - reading through 130+ pages of posts can be time consuming) to see what others have been offered. Please post what you've got if its better then whats in the WIKI

Any chance of getting retention on the CSP? So far SM didn't work. Start HUCA'ing?

Has anyone had success getting attention on the British Airways Chase card? I'm being told no retention offers available. Is it worth keeping?

a) Are there any retention offers?
b) How many days does Chase now give you to refund AF?

60 days for automatic, 6 months if you ask.

I know what to say for retention. Been down that road many times. Amex is just a bit tough. Most people don't get anything/much for SPG.
First year, SPG, got choice of $50 or 7,000 points. Took the points.

I've tried several times over the past 2 months, but they haven't offered anything. Might have to do with the fact that they've given me 3 $60 retention offers within the last 12 months

Is there a reason to keep the premier card if I have the preferred? Will I still be able to transfer to Airlines? (Hope this is the right thread)

Just got an offer to keep my Amex premier rewards gold card open for $75 credit no spending requirements. Is that good or you can get better?

Citi AA Exec. One year anniversary and $450 annual fee just hit.

Last year got the 75k bonus, used the $100 GE and then took a 15k mile retention bonus.

This year the retention offers were:

1. $250 statement credit for $3k spend each month for 3 consecutive months; or,

2. 15k miles for $5k spend within 3 months.

I have the AA Pt and the Prestige which together give essentially the same benefits so I decided to close the Exec.

But, I didn't want to lose the CL. CSR offered to move it to another card without a hard pull but the "system said it was not eligible." Neither the CSR, nor I could figure out why we couldn't move the CL.

So I PC'd the card to the no-AF AA Bronze.
got hit with af on the aa exec, called in that said if I spend 5k each month for the next three months they'll give me back the $450 as a statement credit. Two months in so far did the spending for each month
