I'm trying to summarize success stories mentioned in this thread.
From @TC610
It never hurts to ask - retention is a big YMMV.  If you don't like the offer given to you when you call for retention, ask for a better one.  Scan through the thread (use the search bar - reading through 130+ pages of posts can be time consuming) to see what others have been offered. Please post what you've got if its better then whats in the WIKI

I have PRG. I got a $75 statement credit in April 2017, and they said I had no offers this year because I had one last year. Definitely going to HUCA in the next couple of days.

I have the Everyday Card so I will continue to have my 115k MR points. I'm really debating just shutting it down. I have the CSP as well which is a solid travel card, and a couple AA cards.

Unfortunately, I didn't fight the AF until May 7th last year, so it's not on the 13th month. The bill posted on April 7, 2017.

This year's bill posted on April 7, 2018.

I may be screwed out as I see the 13 month rule of thumb

Lol, a rep just suggested to me that I should keep my SPG card open because in Aug I'll be making 2 points for each dollar instead of just 1...

Had an argument as well with one of the Reps when asked for retention,
She then agreed that it won't be worth for everyday spending, but she said with all other benefits.. bla bla..

AmEx PRG renewed back in February but there was no offers available at the time. Just tried again today (after 13 months from my last retention offer, probably a little more by now) and was offered:

- $100 ($50 Now; $50 After $500)
- 20,000 Points (5,000 Now; 15,000 After $3K)

I took the latter.
+1. Just got the same offer

Amex BRG Spent 6K last 12 Months. Called number on the statement and was given the option to downgrade to the green card, or upgrade to Platinum, 50K bonus after 10K spend in 5 months.
The rep also suggested to connect me to the MR team to see if I can pay the AF with my points...
Any better phone number to call?

Try again after 13 months.

If I do that, it will be too late to get a refund on the AF in case i'm unsuccessful with retention dept.
