I'm trying to summarize success stories mentioned in this thread.
From @TC610
It never hurts to ask - retention is a big YMMV.  If you don't like the offer given to you when you call for retention, ask for a better one.  Scan through the thread (use the search bar - reading through 130+ pages of posts can be time consuming) to see what others have been offered. Please post what you've got if its better then whats in the WIKI

It depends on your credit, stated income, inquiries, and outstanding credit at Chase and/or at other banks. If you're good on all those points, pull the trigger :)

I am just giving my opinion based on what I've read on the forums, but I'm definitely not a pro at this.

And as Dan mention in the A/A thread
This thread seems to have really cooled down, BH.
What was the day of the last A/A that we know about?

Just spoke with Citi retention last night for an $85 annual fee that showed up.
They offered my a $95 statement credit after 5 purchases within 3 months.
Note, this card is open since 2009 (and never paid a fee for it yet).

+1 just now.

Citi advantage visa, annual fee of $50 posted, and they credited back as soon as I called in plus 750 bonus points every month if I spend 750
(by the way why is my annual fee $50, and most of yours $85?)
