I'm trying to summarize success stories mentioned in this thread.
From @TC610
It never hurts to ask - retention is a big YMMV.  If you don't like the offer given to you when you call for retention, ask for a better one.  Scan through the thread (use the search bar - reading through 130+ pages of posts can be time consuming) to see what others have been offered. Please post what you've got if its better then whats in the WIKI

Not necessarily too late, and you can open without an official business.

I gave in and applied and got approved for the Amex platinum for $695 annual fee, but getting 150,000 bonus points after hitting the 6k , but I'm having second thoughts, can anyone explain if it's a good card or not worth it if I'm not in the air international more than once in every few years?

Try posting in the right thread, although this thread can help you with the annual fees. There is a good post on DDMS going through all the benefits so you can see what you would use and what you wouldn't.

Took a Retention Bonus for Amex Personal Plat on 04/05/22.

Chatted to cancel today and Agent said I'm still within 12 months and I may lose the bonus unless I cancel after the 5th

Deadline to get annual fee refunded is the 6th.

What should I do? Will canceling tomorrow risk adverse action from Amex?

TY

If someone accidentally closed a Chase card and reallocated the credit limit will they still allow reopening within 30 days?

Chase allows you to reopen a card soon after it was closed, even if it was closed on purpose, and certainly if there was a miscommunication.

Most people are told that it can be reinstated for 30-days, but others were able to reopen at 45 days (1), three months (1) or even 6 months (1). One person had success getting their Chase cards reinstated almost a year after they were shut down; their account number remained the same, and no hard pull was done.

Note that if you transferred over your credit line to a different card when closing, you won’t be able to get the old account reinstated. Worth leaving $500 credit line if there’s a chance you’ll want to reopen later.

Asked for it outright?
Yes, first they misheard and checked for promotional offers. Then, I said, No, Retention offers - for keeping the card open, and they found it.
