Just called retention for my wifes plat... I asked to close down bec citi just came out with a 200$ statement cr and 100k plus i lost a lot of lounges. She said our system pulled up on your account a 450$ statement credit if you stay. Does that work?

Can anyone give me an answer if there is a chance of getting a retention bonus with the Sapphire?? Also is it too late to call for a retention bonus if the fee already posted to my current statement??? Can"t keep track of all my cards membership fee schedules. Thanks!!!

Citi offered$95 credit after spending $95 to keep the amex aa card ($85 fee), will thst count the $85 fee or needs to be a new $95?

Marriott Rewards - Just got a free night certification Cat 1-4 if I spend $1k in 30 days. This is in addition to the Cat 1 -5 anniversary certificate.
Seems that they were ready to cancel with no further negotiation.

Just got a 25K MR bonus to stay with my Platinum.
They would not offer any waiver on fee or cash back bonus besides that.
I assume I have to wait until it posts to my account but after that anyone know how long I need to stay with platinum before I cancel or downgrade to keep the points ?

How much did you spend this year?

They transferred you to someone who deals with closing account or regular customer service offered?

Has anyone tried cancelling or downgrading from amex platinum after getting a retention bonus ?
are there any rules of how long you have to stay or if you need to pay AF to keep the bonus ?

I am thinking of downgrading to green and wondering if they would do it
