Anybody have recent experience bringing meat (specifically beef jerky) into Bali? Any issues going through customs? Did you declare it or just hoped they didn’t check?

Yes, I brought a ton of food, had no issues. Did not declare anything

Did not have any issue bringing in meat a few times.

Don't remember, I usually play dumb by holding up a sandwich and asking if it's ok to bring in meat...

So I just got back from a two week trip.
I spent the first week in Ubud which was amazing and felt like a different world. I split the second week between Uluwatu and Seminyak. Both were really nice and relaxing. but they felt like beach towns anywhere. If I was only going for the beach I would not travel all the way there to do so (unless you happen to live in Australia).
Chabad in Seminyak and the family in Ubud were incredible for Shabbat.
I didn't realize that Chabad delivers food to Ubud until a few days into my trip. Totally worth keeping that in mind.
Also, I had no issues at all bringing in my meat.

I will be in Bali four 4 days, definitely going to spend the first two days in ubad, however I'm not sure where to spend the next two days. if anyone has any recommendations please send them my way { also if you have any good hotel ideas with or without points that would be amazing }

Alila Ulwatu is unavailable for my dates anyone has any other ideas of where to stay within half hour drive to airport and a beach style hotel ?

I stayed in the Alila Seminyak - right on the beach with beautiful views. I think it was about 45 mins from the airport.

we got a babysitter through the Ritz Reserve Mandapa, she was really good and is happy to work privately she will travel anywhere as well.
