AA status match from united

Not sure how many aa flights I will have the rest of this year possibly only one or two is it still worth matching as I doubt it will still be around in June or July of this year
EDIT: I was just told by their reps that at least if you match to their exec plat and dont make it you wont be dropped all the way down buy only one level to their reg plat for 2013

Anyone know how AA verify's your status with UA, besides the paperwork you send in? Hard for me to believe that AA actually contacts UA to verify the status of a MP member....

I faxed them the printout from online showing Platinum status on United and within 2 days I was platinum on AA. I also had to fax them my passport and AA number.

in February my aadvantage gold was running out...right before it did, I did a status match with united who gave me silver (for 90 days unless I fulfilled the quota). Then came this offer from AA to which I simply sent a screenshot of my MP account and walla im back gold on AA.

I can't answer that except to say that what I faxed them was the erroneous United Platinum status that appeared for a few days after the merger and they matched it at Platinum. I am really Gold.
