If you don't mind my asking though, what did you wife and kids do while you went diving? And what's the secret to get them to keep coming on RTW trips

I really enjoyed this thread-long trip report, the entirety of which I read today. Moish, how were your kids in terms of jet-lag and nap time? Also, how did they do the hikes?

so for the last two days, i took "personal days" where my wife graciously agreed to stay at the hotel with the kids. at first it was going to be just the one day and i would have missed the low isles, but the day went pretty well for her, with the relaxing at the pool etc that she let me go for the second day.

the secret? my kids love it as much as i do. i usually do things that they enjoy, besides the fact they get much more nosh than usual, get to drink soda, dont have to brush teeth etc

my wife does it out of the goodness of her heart. while she does enjoy it, especially after its done and we can reminisce, she does work hard on the trip. and im forever grateful to her for doing it. without her on board, it doesnt happen. simple as that

my kids dont really sleep too much as compared to other kids. they certainly dont have a set time during the day when they need to take a nap which if missed they turn into a basket case. i guess that helps with the trip.

we didnt really do such strenuous hikes, and i always had a stroller on hand, or a baby bjorn if necessary

6. Summer 2011 - Thailand (Dubai, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Singapore, Hong Kong)
7. Summer 2012 - Germany (Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich, Rothenburg, Nuremberg, Neuschwanstein, Berlin, Hamburg, Copenhagen)
8. March 2013 - New Zealand (Auckland, Rotorua, Dunedin, Queenstown, Franz Josef, Christchurch, Seoul)
