I'm filed a claim for Amex return protection and they sent me an email today

In order to complete the evaluation of your claim, please send to us the item originally purchased at your expense.
Please ship the item, including all manuals, cords, attachments and/or accessories to us. Please remove any
personal information from your item, as we are not liable for any information left on the item and the item will not
be returned to you.

is there a way around this

No. I mean, assuming you actually want AmEx to credit you that is.

Was the item over $100?
Officially that is Amexs policy.

That makes sense. As long as the receipt says new (not refurbished) and you send it back in like new condition you should not have a problem getting a refund.

it's brand new sealed camcorder that store didn't want to take back. I called Amex and say claim they're sending me label.
