If you're diamond.
Officially they stopped this, though some reps will still do it.

Still debating if I should keep my ressy with the PH or switch to the Conrad. I already have the points with Hyatt and im Diamond, but can also get the points for Conrad and book out of Diamond account.

Seems like upgrades to OWB are about the same price, so since cost is the same and I have the Hyatt points already, just makes sense to stick with them.

No way I'd go to MLE and stay at PH over Conrad.

Among other reasons, if you do get an OWB at Conrad, you'll get a plunge pool, which isn't offered at PH.

Officially they stopped this, though some reps will still do it.

Really? Perhaps it's DROPR. (Unless you know of an official confirmaion?)

That's terrible news.

Its not new...over a year ago Ive had several CSR tell me they cant do it, and I've confirmed it with a supervisor (who went as far as telling me she will create a complaint against the CSR that set up my reservation).

This isn't to say that I haven't had luck since, as I believe their systems will still allow it. But it is YMMV, and no longer an official benefit.

That's what DROPR is for. You reservation was probably notes so like all the stupid reps do just blabel what the note says and make it for a new policy.  With all that being said, I am not saying that the policy has not changed, Im saying that once there is a note stating something no rep will ever change it, even if its dead wrong. Even the CEO.
You can say what you think when you think what you say.

Do you need to take a seaplane to the PH as well? I know it is ~$500 pp to get to the Conrad.

Not a seaplane but regional plane + boat. Also costs is ~500/person though

Have a trip booked and I'll be staying at the PH. When I emailed them about charging for storing food (was planning on bringing POM meals), they mentioned that they sometimes order Kosher food for people from Australia. Has anyone here ever done that? How does it compare to POM?

POM will be better.

But slightly more inconvenient to have to shlep it there and have a very short connection in DOH so scared of my bags not making the connection and all the food going bad. Trying to do a little cost/benefit analysis.

When you arrive, ask your host for an extra mini bar fridge.

Why? They're charging me to heat the meals anyways. May as well let them store them too. Or am I missing something?

For any food you want to bring that doesn't need to be heated up (I. E. Salami, cheese, etc) or that you will somehow heat up yourself.  Better to have with you in villa.

I'm thinking of doing that for the Conrad. Maybe start a chain for it.

First time traveling without the kid, i should have plenty of space to stick a toaster oven.

you would probably need a big one to convert all those watts to 220.

Just booked 5 nights at the Conrad, which will follow a two night stopover in Singapore on the way there.  I've seen that the PH has offered to provide kosher Austrailian meals but has anyone had success with that the Conrad?  Also, if I do bring packaged meals for the five days it will most likely be from the kosher restaurant in Singapore and was wondering if anyone has done that before?  It seemed like most people do their Singapore stays after the Maldives not before.  Any advice or experiences you guys have had at the Conrad would be great!

You should check with the store in Singapore how they package the meals.
