You should check with the store in Singapore how they package the meals.

I'm definitely going to do that.  Their website says they can arrange for travel meals but I'll be very specific when I speak to them.  Are you even going to try to have them bring some Australian meals for you at the Conrad or just planning to bring everything you'll need?

I'm not going until next year so I have plenty of time before then.  I just booked all now because I was able to get biz class seats on Singapore for all the dates I wanted and since it's about 30 hours from Denver I really wanted to book those flights!

Maldives declares state of emergency
http://edition.cnn.com/2015/11/04/asia/maldives-state-of-emergency/

It seems like though if you're just arriving in MLE and hopping straight on a seaplane to your private resort island it should be fine...

Not yet, but they seem to be in a downward spiral.

But slightly more inconvenient to have to shlep it there and have a very short connection in DOH so scared of my bags not making the connection and all the food going bad. Trying to do a little cost/benefit analysis.
Food from Australia was ok. tastes like random take-out food. Though you are guaranteed to have it and you wont need to worry. I split it 50/50. I got milk from Australia that was deff worth it. I took all my food in a carry on. Froze it before hand. Put it in this http://www.amazon.com/Polar-Bear-Coolers-Pack-Cooler/dp/B003KU22PI it was mostly frozen when i got to Maldives 48 hours later

When you arrive, ask your host for an extra mini bar fridge.
Please note the mini bar fridges in PH like in most hotels are chillers not actual fridges.

No way I'd go to MLE and stay at PH over Conrad.

Among other reasons, if you do get an OWB at Conrad, you'll get a plunge pool, which isn't offered at PH.

Depends on you situation....

Yep, that cooler is awesome. Been using it for at least 3 years. IIRC, I was the one who mentioned it on here first ;)

It's on the shopping list  :)
So you just put the entire POM box in the duffle and checked it?

I put all the food in the bad with lots of ice packs. Really works well.

Plan on doing this for my trip here in January.

No, I take it out of the box, line bottom with blue ice, put meals in, put another layer blue ice, etc etc, then line the sides.

Then you're...

Just took the ice packs out of the Pom box and put that and the food in the duffle. I took it as a carry on. Couldn't afford anyone loosing it.

Isn't the 48 pack too big for carry on?

ETA: Why blue ice specifically?

I always have checked my 48 pack.

Blue ice is just convenient. Also is reusable. What else did you have in mind?

Well, after a couple bad experiences with delayed bags, I only carry on my frozen stuff. I have the 24 pack, but it's a bit small for a long trip.
I was wondering if you tried different types of ice packs, and found those to be the best? On my last trip I used 9lbs of dry ice. I put it into the polar bear sunday evening, then put the frozen food in monday morning. When I opened the cooler tuesday night the dry ice was gone, hot dogs were half defrosted, but burger patties and cold cuts were still pretty solid. So I'm not sure the dry ice was any better than freezer packs. How long does your stuff last?

Have never gone wrong with blue ice.

I have 3-4 large ones and 10 or so smaller ones and pack as I said above.

Easily lasts 18-24 hours.
