Wow. Is ow allowed?
What about JFK-DXB-AMN?

yes OW is allowed but its not half the cost, JFK-DXB-AMM is doable but its slightly over 8,000 miles which puts it into a higher bracket

I believe so

I think they just charge the exact same fee as for all other room service orders ($15) and I saw on Flyertalk this applies also to your free gold/diamond breakfast that they will let you order room service breakfast for free in your villa with only the $15 fee that goes on all rooms service orders.

They do not charge.

I had them bring in to my room every day, besides one night where they set it up by the restaurant.

Wow, amazing!  Was this recently?  I could be totally confused but I thought Marco Polo said they charged him when he went last month.

I'd also love a TR. ;)

This probably warrants a thread of its own, but seeing how the Maldives seems is among the top destinations to go and leave the kids with grandparents, would be grateful for anyone's input in how they got their in-laws/parents on board. My MIL seems most concerned that the kids (2 2.5 year olds) will not have a good time and will think negatively of going to her house ever again. I think first-hand experiences will help put her at ease, so grateful for any PMs or posts you can share on the topic.

Depends on your kids. If they are the type who will cry for a week then she has a valid point.
Otherwise if she spoils them then they will associate her house with treats and ice cream and going to do fun things.
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

Silver-lining in that would be that you wouldn't have to go to your in-laws as often anymore either. I mean, because your kids don't like it.  :o ;)

Trip is finally coming up in 3 weeks! Any suggestions of things that I shouldn't forget to bring (i.e. sunscreen)? Don't want to forget something and have to buy it at the hotel and get fleeced because of the insane prices.  I heard everything at these hotels is insanely overpriced. :)

Beach/swimming shoes so your feet don't get sliced on the coral when snorkeling.  A few people on FT noted to make sure to bring these.
