I advise you make a reservation already bec they are totally booked for our whole stay. Trying to get our hostess to get us in there even though it's fully booked. We are like all we need is 5 min and will pay the full price. She's like that's what everyone is asking for. Will see what happens.

Oh wow, thanks for the heads upland I'll email them!

Valid point, but the Mrs and mother have never heard of the Maldives (as opposed to turkey, abu dhabi and Qatar) so i havent told them ;). No exec decisions power since i need my parents to watch my kids, plus my wife needs to be happy on our trip or its a waste. going to push harder for abu dhabi since we know jews who went there and were fine. but its an uphill battle. I'm too much of a softy and I'll prob end up settling to go back to miami :(

What about through Singapore (daily flights) or British Airways, which has high YQ, but good availability.

im confused regarding this food business. why would i need to reserve food for cocktail hour or anything else? is it mandatory?

He is referring to going to Ithaa, the underwater restaurant at the Conrad.

I think he'd prefer to obviously stay longer but if it was fully booked I would also still want to see it.  I guess it's just supposed to be a cool experience and thing to see.

No idea, although I've read on TRs people were brought to Ithaa from other hotels via speedboats.

Ok wow did we get hooked up. So before Shabbos we told our hostess to do her best to get us into the Ithaa by hook or by crook. So right after Shabbos she calls us up and tells us she spoke to the General Manager and he said we can go into the Ithaa for cocktail hour from 10 PM to 11 PM tonight. She's like you'll get a glass of Champagne. Then she asks us can you drink that because I want you to enjoy it. I told her no so she said she can get us cocktails. Here I'm thinking they are opening the Ithaa for many ppl since it's in high demand and there are a lot of ppl on the island now. We get there and we find out it is JUST FOR US!! Wow what an experience! All alone for an hr under there. So beautiful! Total damage was $160. But totally worth it.

Not at all.  Dinner at night is the most sought after but it just doesn't make sense obviously if you keep kosher.  It's normally $500 pp ++ (so like $1200 a couple) and it's supposed to be cooler because the have floodlights around the restaurant and that plus their feeding draws all the fish!

That's totally awesome! That's great too that they were fine to swap out the champagne and let you order other drinks. Btw, that was an amazing upgrade you got.  How are the Deluxe Water Villas?  Do you think it would be worth paying for the upgrade to them?  They look much farther apart and more private.

Well obviously if I had the option to do it during the day I would've chosen that. But I just took whatever was offered to me. And plus being alone with no one else there was just too awesome to pass up.

Yup originally was booked for first two night at standard water villa for $150++ and last two nights at premium water villa for 280++ . Def a heck of an upgrade. Best part was didn't have to switch rooms in the middle. The Deluxe Water Villa is gorgeous though I never got quoted on it so don't know if it can be worth it money wise.

For all that booked the st regis overwatervilla. kids under the age of 8 are not allowed. So if you have to bring a baby with you, you might want to contact them or switch to a beach villa

Alternatively go to a more child appropriate destination.

At the Conrad now, used the following cooler... worked perfectly... food was frozen upon arrival... Conrad chef was impressed it stayed frozen....

https://www.amazon.com/AO-Coolers-Canvas-High-Density-Insulation/dp/B01HG5KTAC?th=1&psc=1

Also bought 3 cooler shock ice packs that helped...
