Are you on a plat account? Did they offer free fruit for breakfast?

Not plat.. They gave us a huge bowl of fruit in the room when we walked in. I'll let you know if they replenish tomorrow :)

Idk of what you're comfortable with acc to halacha but the chef here told us he has a set of pots/pans on the side that are kosher and cooks witg them for kosher people in a separate kitchen  - seems like they are dairy but we didn't go full details yet. Going to speak to the chef tonight to decide how he's going to cook the red snapper we got on the sunset fishing :) full details in TR

Sounds awesome, so excited to hear about it!  In either or both units, do you feel really private on your deck area?  Comfortable to swim?  Or were lots of people snorkeling around the units?

Barely anybody snorkeling around. Over three days, there have only been 2 instances of people snorkeling around our villa.

In the north side villas, there is more privacy as they are on the "outside" of the circle so no one from other villas has a chance at seeing you. The east side villas, where I am now, have limited visibility of other villas. Only if I'm standing at the edge of my villas can I see the edge of other people's villas. You'd have to really try to look at other people to see anything.  I don't think anyone can see us in the pool as the pools are one step out of the villa.

Are they even entertaining the idea of upgrading you to the Sunset Villas? on Flyertalk  someone posted they were upgraded to a Sunset Villa and said he was a platinum.

We didn't ask because we didn't want one. We wanted sunrise villa, which we got. For sunset, we're usually out either by the beach/pool/restaurant area or by the whale bar. The first night we went sunset fishing which was amazing as well. But out of the 77 villas here, there can't be more than 35 occupied. At most. If we're going by the number of different families /couples I've seen, that number  would be 10-15. Getting upgraded shouldn't be so difficult if the place isn't full.

And as a side note, the entire day is sunny, not one cloud in the sky. Then at sunset, it's almost like the clouds know that it's time, and they come and make for the most surreal sunsets with the most amazing colors that you could only dream about.

At St regis now....
Big thanks to CZ60 for taking Pom meals for me. Was nice meeting you today. Also met another jewish couple here from spg deal, saw on dd
I started at villa north side, but it has almost no sun on deck, so we changed to sunrise...
I have sun almost the entire day, but privacy does suffer. People from the beach villas and also from some other water villas can clearly see in. Its quite a distance, so not a major issue, but full privacy is gone. You will only get that north side or a few sunset villas
they didnt want to upgrade us to sunset (no status) also claimed they were full
Our luggage only arrived with a seaplane 3 hours later, because of weight issues on the seaplane. Was a pain, not hotels fault
Service is very good and they are very helpful with kosher food, storing and heating it up, serving were ever and when ever
The villas are very nice and modern. The pools are in the back of the porch and alot in the shade because of it

Coming from the halaveli, were the rooms were also very nice (more privacy and  better pool) the service was also amazing, I dont see anything that justifies the huge price difference yet. If it would be the same price, were would i stay? will answer in 72 hours :-)

Yes seaplane would be 3.5 hrs minimum.

Seems like it's not nearly as private as the W.

How's the snorkeling?

Not great as the coral is completely bleached from the construction. They're saying it's going to take a few years until it gets back. You have to go to the edge of the reef to really see stuff. But at the edge you can see quite a lot. We saw some black tip sharks, some dory fish (not sure of spelling), rainbow fish, needle nose rainbow fish, one(!) eel, and a bunch of other smaller fish. We night snorkeled as well and saw a huge hermit crab, some very pretty starfish, and some other stuff. So far we didn't see any octopi or turtles (dw keeps dragging me out in hopes of seeing them). One day left!

We went scuba diving for first time ever today and it was amazing. They took us to a reef about ten minutes out and it was spectacular. Live coral with a ton of amazing colorful fish. We saw some clams as well. They have a snorkeling trip to that area as well (costs some money) but I would highly advise to go once just to see what's out there.

And PS for all those that know (knew) the chef at the Conrad that took care of them re kosher, well if his name is Chef Ayyoub, he's now the head chef here. They took a lot of staff from the four seasons, some from the W, and a mix from the other luxury hotels. By my count thus far, most are from the four seasons. 305 total staff here. There were 56 guests here Sunday, going to be 40 Monday. A ratio I can get used to :)
