FYI the conrad is very strict in not allowing drones. Somehow they found out i had one (maybe saw in my luggage?) and warned me not to use it.

Problem with the Conrad is that snorkeling off your villa is virtually non existent. Pretty much no underwater life save for the one or two fish that got lost. House reef is on the other island.

But on the flip side, it means you have total privacy

+1...you nailed it. It personally was a positive for me and made me feel so much better knowing people weren’t popping into the water to snorkel by the units. From my perspective, if I’ve got to put on the dreaded frum suit and oh so comfortable and appealing swim cap to go snorkel, really who cares if I also have to take a 3 minute golf cart ride to another island to get to their awesome house reef (where I DID see awesome sea life)!  :P

Is it still possible to find anything a Feb trip?
I would do it as NYC-TLV-MLE-NYC

My question is, should I bother reading this thread!

FYI the conrad is very strict in not allowing drones. Somehow they found out i had one (maybe saw in my luggage?) and warned me not to use it.

As for SR although they make it known that drones are not allowed. I was able to fly it out a couple times no problem. One of the employees even flew out their drone to take photos of one of the events.

Problem with the Conrad is that snorkeling off your villa is virtually non existent. Pretty much no underwater life save for the one or two fish that got lost. House reef is on the other island.

Just left the Maldives and was truly amazing to be able to jump off the villa and snorkel around. Everything there was absolutely stunning and although I have not been to any other resorts in the Maldives I don’t regret spending 234k SPG points at all on this place. Was initially worried that 5 nights would be too much but definitely could have stayed there for longer and not been bored. Massive TR will be coming in the next couple weeks.

Earn and burn. No point in holding the points in my account... Although, I guess I could have used it for several trips around the world. But, then again already replenished my stash nearly two times over and glad I ended up going through with it and  staying there.

It’s a little OT but most importantly I wanna know how you get 500k spg so fast!  :P

I earn HHonors at 12ppd and spend a ton on my business so can rack up quickly but if you are spending that much, wouldn’t you maybe be even better off putting it on a Chase Ink or Reserve with the some bonus categories?

Same here.It is not easy for me to accumulate 500K SPG points since I put spend on several cards through business expenses and personal spend, I have over 500k SPG points, but took me 2 years  :)

There hundreds of great resorts. Are you paying cash or points?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

hundreds?

points, not sure yet!

cash, will depend on bang for your buck.

Wiki has no info on resorts DDFs have been to and their experiences and kosher accommodations. Its scattered all over the thread.
Ill try while reading through to gather info to add to the wiki.

AKJ said a Feb trip is doable if im flex. I'm looking for the starting points.

I came up with these 3 properties widely discussed, did I miss any?
Conrad
PH
St Regis

I would skip the Ph it seems to be old and worn. If you can get a great deal to the SR then go for it. Otherwise its tough to beat the conrad for value and experience. They give a top notch experience for a very good price when using points (especially on a 5 night stay)

I'd agree. Points-wise, I'd say SR, Conrad, W, PH.

But if you can't get SR, look into the Constance, which is where we stayed the first time and very nice.
