sure, my wife and I have a half-hour only phone rule on vacation, so I'll try to send a bunch later.

In summary with the villa, my wife and I aren't crazy on the plunge pool, and this villas privacy (and the one next to it) are uniquely private on the island

Your plunge pool seems very tiny compared to the traditional OWBs's (numbered on the map above) plunge pool.

Well, there goes my choice on the matter lol. There was an issue with the electric in my villa going haywire, so I'm being moved lol, being put in an over water sunset Villa, they would have put me in a suite but there was only one available and a paying customer (GM explained he paid cash not upgraded to it) so he can't bump him, and the only other option is garden or Astor I jokingly told him Astor ;D ;D ;D
BH it's on of the more private ones, only a few away from the Astor so all should be good iy"h and @Dan now I can see how that it the plunge pool actually is lol

I feel like I’m hijacking @yehuda25’s live TR, but hopefully this question is not too far off topic.

Planning a 5-night Maldives stay in January 2020 for our big wedding anniversary.  Must be overwater.  Would love to stay at SR but seems difficult if not impossible to find for points (60k?). However, it seems easy to get Water Villa at Conrad Rangali for 95k.

There are several very favorable TRs on the Conrad, but my sense is that SR is the gold standard.   Are they really worlds apart, or are the experiences and properties comparable?

Dont know if this helps but From the research I've done is that the SR has nicer accommodations as its much newer but the conrad has nicer snorkeling and scuba (better location) but I've never been to either

The W also has a better reef than the SR.

So, maybe I should ask the difficult question (of myself):  If we are not going to scuba and don't really care about snorkeling, is it worth it to go all the way to the Maldives, if what we are seeking is a beautiful, picturesque, isolated, luxurious, warm escape?

While I haven't been to the SR, it does appear to be at the top of the list from several perspectives.  That said, I think the CR is in the top-3 and I don't think you'll go wrong...

If you don't like being in the ocean it is not worth shlepping there IMHO.
