Is it a new policy  or is there any reason I am not able to get aeroplan to piece together a MLE-AUH AUH-JFK or LAX flight on EY? Tried HUCA and all agents seem to have no reason why they can't piece it together but they say that when they chose one segment they are suddenly not able to see the other. Even when I book the segment they can't see and ask them to piece on the segment they can see as available that previously available segment disappears.
I had all sorts of married segment issues with EY.
In the end I had success booking AUH-JFK and then adding MLE-AUH after ticketing.

This was recently? Have tried that without any luck. Did it take some HUCA or did it seem like a simple process for them? How long after booking first segment did you call back in to add the second? Also, any idea if I were to book AUH-JFK would I be able to add a third segment JFK-LAX?

2017. Took a lot of HUCA and calling AA AU and NZ.

Didn't Aeroplan only add EY as a partner this summer?

I booked it on the way home from maldives -- much worse experience then qatar - both in business class.

EY was booked using aeroplan

I had a similar issue -- they could only see AUH to ORD but not MLE to AUH - when I called them they were able to do it, there was a route they saw it open when flying to Cairo, so the aeroplan agent knew the segment was available.

Have QR on the way there and want to try the EY apartments on the way back. Also saves me in taxes on infant ticket booking with AC. Did you book the AUH-ORD segment first and then call in to add the MLE segment? Was it easy once she say the Cairo flight or did you have to HUCA? Any advice or a walkthrough of how you/the agent was able to book it will be helpful!

I just called them and told them each was available separately, but not together.  The agent on the first try was able to book it.

Has anyone stayed at the SR MLE with the reservation being in someone else's name? Did they give any issues?

Email them and have them change the name on the reservation. Say it was gifted. Shouldn’t be an issue I was able to do it for someone 6 months ago

Closer in to your reservation, they email you to ask you the actual name of the travel companion, they need it for the see plane...  you can respond with actual guest names.

Email looks like this
"Sunny greetings from The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort!

Thank you very much for choosing The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort as your preferred holiday destination.

Furthermore to your reservation with us for Garden Villa with Pool from 19 – 22 October 2018 for 02 adults, kindly advise us the complete name of your travel companion and your arrival and departure details (international flight numbers / name of the hotel or resort that you will be staying at prior or after your stay with us) so that we may arrange return airport transfer accordingly."

Always praying for delayed baggage.

Thanks. Do you remember approximately how much before the actual reservation they sent out this email?

Very strange. Especially since they say it's a 10mn flight from MLE.. you'd think it would make it cheaper  :-\

Just read on OMAT that there might be a good chance that breakfast will be included on all bookings, including reward ones. So maybe that explains the steep fees

Not sure it would be a flight, it's the same distance as the WA from MLE

The RC advertises either 10mn flight, or 50mn speedboat available 24-hour a day

There are private transfer boats that cost a lot less then what the hotels charge. You can pre-book your transfer in advance and advise the hotel of your arrival time.
