7 days remaining but worth watching https://www.charitybuzz.com/catalog_items/7-nights-in-crusoe-villa-at-soneva-fushi-in-maldives-or-1028169

Wow, great deal!  My flights are based on 5 nights but these auctions can be a great deal.  I got outbid in the last minute last month on the HHonors site for 4 nights in the Sunset villa at the Conrad and a ton of excursions. 😰😭 It was ton of points but an amazing value for what you got.

I am 7 nights away from SPG Platinum. I have a trip IY"H to the W Maldives in September. What can Plat status help me there? Is it worth the effort of having Plat status before I go?
Thanks in advance!

I actually was trying to decide whether to use Surpass @12ppd or Citi @10ppd but no foreign exchange fee.  Does anyone know if it's a true dollar transaction or like what they do at the WA Jerusalem where the prices are listed in dollars but actually charged in Shekels...

Unfortunately you'll get to 2k way to easily! Everything is charged ++, which adds 22% and it's over a grand just for the seaplane for 2 ppl.  We're by no means going the cheapest way possible but I've budgeted about 5k total. But at least with the CC and HHonors points given for the stay you can get about 30% back in points for future redemptions.

Sheesh. What does ++ 22% mean?

Makes sense considering they plan on relocating their entire population to another country once the seas rise and sink their country.

Yep, here it's 10% service charge and 12%tax...

Lol. Maybe that's what the additional $6 pp "Green Tax" is for! 😋

As I previously posted I had Park Hyatt Maldives booked on points to finish off our honeymoon. But, I saw that the new St Regis Maldives was bookable so went ahead and booked an overwater villa there with points. For now I am going to keep both reservations and make sure the St Regis opens this year like its supposed to and see first reviews come in. That being said as long as things go smoothly I will likely cancel the Park Hyatt reservation as the dates near. I like that fact that ALL rooms have their own pool, plus I was able to go ahead and confirm in an overwater villa on points, rather than having to pay for the upgrade cash like at the Hyatt. I also like that its a direct sea plan transfer that's 45 minutes rather than a plane and a boat.

How many points for the OWB?

Right now it was 32,500 points, no c+p options which seems to be an amazing value as the room is 2200+ a night. There is a 645/person round trip fee to get to the hotel.

I doubt these low points rates will stay being that a night at the W Maldives is like 90K/night. My guess is this might just be the rates while its newly opened and they will adjust at some point to be more in line with the w.
