Ok so our flight to isreal went well with a stopover in Madrid. Problem is our luggage didn't make it with us....including our meals for our trip.

Any ideas for frozen meals in isreal??

Yikes, that does sound like a recipe for disaster.  I'm really sorry for you but you're just confirming why I decided to chance getting the local Food in Sinngapore to bring vs. trying to bring from Denver.  I just have to much travel time and too many connections...

Hey sorry went off the grid for a few days. It was a total miracle but I called American Airlines and had them try to put our suitcase in the freezer and when we got it 2 days late the food was still frozen ish.
The hotel is absolutely amazing. They met us at the airport with 3 PEOPLE. They took our bags and headed over to the sea plane check in. Word of advice my carry on rolling suitcase got charged as checked luggage bc it was bigger then their tiny dimensions of a hand bag ie there are no overhead bins on the plane. They led us to a waiting car and whisked us to the lounge and we were there about 10 minutes till our seaplane transfer.

2 quick ideas sit in the front of the plane as there are only 2 fans and it could get hot.
Also a pair of earplugs might be helpful.
The staff at the conrad as exceptional and the chef knows all about kosher and is delighted to help you.

Enjoy your stay!!

That is awesome that you were able to get your food in the end and yeah I'm so excited to hear from you and Barry Lincon's TR how accomodating they are about kashrut.  Now that I they'll make all these efforts I think we're going to try to do the Malidivian Fishing excursion and see if we can catch some fresh fish for one dinner!  :)

Just a few pointers from our recent trip to the PH MLE.

First of all we went with a one and a half year old baby (Gasp!!) and contrary to everyone here on DDF's opinion, we had an absolutely AMAZING time!!

Now obviously it would have been more relaxed without her, but hey, its no different than any other vacation with a child, if not better being that there aren't many activities here, just mostly relaxing at the beach.

My kid thoroughly enjoyed playing in the pool and on the beach.

Now about the OWB, I know this may get me kicked off DDF, but I fail to see the major novelty that everyone goes crazy about. Is it cool, something you can't find in too many places around the world? Yes. But personally I would rather a villa on the beach, with a private pool, under a minute walk to the Jetty with gorgeous snorkeling.

If there were more people on the island, it may make a difference to have your "private" place to go snorkeling, but being there are only 50 villas on the whole island, there are never more than 40-50 people on the island at a time, so whatever it is you feel like doing, you will never see more than 5-10 people (usually just 1 or 2 actually) there.

I was offered the OWB even though I was with a baby, as long as I signed a waiver. But after looking at it, my wife and I both said we would rather stay in our villa, as IMHO it was cooler (as in not so hot) , less buggy, and more relaxed.

I understand people are nervous to bring children as travel time is very long, but being that we went from Israel it cut travel time in half.

It would make sense however if you are going with a child to go to an island closer to Male, as the PH is really a pain to get to. (45 min plane ride + 30 min boat ride)

But the PH was absolutely stunning and the service truly impeccable, as noted in CS91 TR. I honestly cannot imagine anything nicer! I'm baffled as to why people don't view the PH as their #1 choice.

But I really can't believe that we almost didn't go because of the folk around here that think it's absolutely crazy to go with a baby.

So for anyone thinking of going with a baby and getting nervous, just go. You'll thank me later.

PH MLE is known to have issues with the OWB temperature.
There are places much closer to home that are on the beach and have good snorkeling. I don't see the point (for Americans at least) of flying to the other end of the world to stay in a beach villa.
For me the novelty was the OWB.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Can you pinpoint exactly what it is about the OWB that pulls you so?

And it's not just the fact that it's on the beach, and has gorgeous snorkeling. The whole island is just absolutely breathtaking, nothing remotely close to anything I have ever seen! (No Hawaii dosent even come close!)
