I know of a nice yeshivish couple in Jerusalem that sells food for families coming in for holidays and staying in apmts and the like. We used them on Pesach when I was in Israel. They gave us the food frozen. If you are interested, PM me, I'll give you the info.

Probably best to bring frozen meals from the US. I've looked around a little in isreal and haven't found any frozen meal places

It would be a real hassle to schlep frozen meals all around Israel for a week, and then finding place to store it everywhere we go :'(

Hey,

Im going to MLE Jan 9th-12th. Right no im booked at the St Regis for 90k A night:(. I know its crazy. So if anyone has a reservation for  30k those days please let me know if you are interested on letting me have it i am willing to pay a fair price. Or if your are still able to get a booking at the conrad i will be will to trade...

Also i am stopping off in Israel for a week before. i contacted the SR and they said they do not have a vendor that imports kosher food for them at this time so if anyone knows of a good place in israel that prapares decent kosher food please let me know.

Thank you

90k a night is crazy. thats . you can sell these points for 1500 a night and get alot of nice resorts for much less. Also you will be paying almost 700 for seaplane, so if only for 3 days, maybe save that and stay somewere closer to male that can be reached by boat

Try emailing them and see if they get shipments from Australia (like chuchem did - read TR) and coordinate with the shipping company and kosher grocery in Australia without SR involvement.

You need a hotel and a great f and b manager for that to happen. Most hotels would not be happy for you to start talking to the shipping company directly. I was very very lucky

Being that it is peak season i cant really find any good owb for much less than 1500 after taxes and fess, do you know a specific TA or place that you would recommend me check out? and again if someone has a reservation there for 30k or at the Conrad i am willing to buy/trade.

I just booked Jan. 9-12 for you at the Conrad.  It's only got a 15 day cancellation so lots of time to figure out if it will work for you.  I've got no idea what the up charge for an OWB this time of year is but will email them if you like.  I can also double check that the main chef that knows so much about kashrut will be there.  If he's there he'll hook you up for breakfast and can also fix you fish, potatoes, etc. and will let you in the kitchen to check whatever you want (eggs for blood, scales on fish, etc) and he knows to let you light the flame and he keeps separate glass plates to serve on.  The Conrad can also arrange kosher meals from Australia for about $40 per meal.  I'd offered upthread to trade 30k SPG per Conrad night so it would be 90k total.  If you are interested PM me and if not, I can cancel it.

No one here has been to both, but I'm not sure they're meant to be in the same league.  But who knows.

Person I spoke to who was at the St. Regis said that it was very nice and they were understanding about Kosher (heating up POM meals etc.)

Only complaint was that the Island is really small and you start getting Island fever after 3-4 days

There are a few reviews on TripAdvisor which are making me itching to go already! The pics on Instagram are unbelievable (though it seems to be cloudy every day at sunset!)

Same could be said regarding just about any Maldives resort, though some to a greater degree than others.

Clouds generally add to a sunset, not subtract.

Agreed, though too many clouds is also not ideal. Peak season is coming up right about now so we should be getting even better pics.

Granted, never been to the SR so maybe I'd change my mind if I had but I think I pretty much only want to go back to Conrad if I return to the Maldives for a couple of reasons and "island fever" plus no kids around when I wanted are two of the big ones.  Having the two islands there really is key to the experience.  When I wanted the totally serene, quiet, exclusively honeymoon type experience that makes Americans want to shlep for 24hrs to experience the Maldives, I could get that on the "quiet" island at the Conrad.  The other island has a high end feel too but there are lots of kids and families too and it could be a beautiful high end resort anywhere with a private pool (remember, that for people from Europe, the ME and Asia it's like how we travel to Cancun and I'd think those big beach villas at the SR are meant for these families).

Also, because the house reef is on the main island, there are signs warning that there are strong tides on the private island and swimming at great risk, almost no one swam past my OWB and if they did it was WAY far away because of the way the tides and coral are.  To me it was a plus that the quiet OWB island was also mostly Chinese when we went and the staff said they are generally weak swimmers who would never try to swim there (the lifeguard told me they never used to have lifeguards and recently hired him basically to watch and help all the Chinese guests if they wanted to swim on the house reef).  Y'all can ask your own shailas and argue about what is halchically "private" but I felt as comfortable on the porch and pool of my OWB as I do inside my house.  It was the perfect place for relaxing and chilling but since we were there six days, I didn't at all get bored (and I was worried I would) because if I actually did want to go out, we'd go over to the other island to the house reef or to the marina for the free watersports, etc.  I'm a total loser and haven't finished my trip reports because I haven't taken the time to learn how to upload my underwater and other pictures and thought it would be lame to do a TR without pics but B"H I'll write it anyway just to give people some insights and can just lazily link to the awesome pics from BarryLincoln's TR since his are so cool!  :P

Thanks for the shoutout.  Agree with Denverite.  Didn't have any of the feelings suggested in prior posts.  I think 5-6 days was perfect trip length at Conrad...

Seems smaller than most but I could be wrong. I've been to MLE/BOB/SEZ and some other exotic islands and the only one I really couldn't last more than 3-4 days at was the Maldives
