Saw reports that OWV at the St Regis Maldives were bookable for 58,500 pts a night. Reached out to them on chat and confirmed. Also confirmed 5 nights would be a total of 234,000 points of 46,800 pts a night. Fairly reasonable if you have a lot of points.

It seems to be in line with the previous resort redemption promos for the W seen here http://www.spgresortredemption.com/ so it seems likely its a regular promo for the time being and probably not any sort of mistake.

As long as it's not in the main page, you'll be fine. DDF'ers made probably hundreds of bookings before it died...just get moving if you wanna go!

I understand, but this is a publicized promo on their website, not a mistake so I doubt they'd pull it because of publicity and it's anyway got a fixed lifespan.  On another note, someone just PM'd me about it so I thought I'd let people know, I'm still happy to book people into the Conrad on a Diamond account for SPG 35k a night or 30k if it's for 5 nights.  You all would have to do the heshbon of whether the upgrade fee to an OWV, cheaper seaplane, activities, etc. at the Conrad is worth the approx. 20k more a night to just book yourself into the SR.

You do get a confirmed OWV there but you just have to pay for it...depending on the season it's anywhere from about $100-$300 a night.

Yup, when I went (in September) it was like $150 and then when I booked for someone else (in January) it  was also that price.  I was honestly shocked it was so cheap for him to upgrade during the high season.  Because I could always cancel, I booked the room for him and checked the upgrade price so he could see the total price and decide whether it was worth it to trade me his SPG points AND pay for an upgrade.  Because the fee was so low, and rates at nice resorts were so high in winter season, it was still a significant savings over just paying outright for a room or let's say using UR points.  It really depends on what other resorts are charging for points or paid stays to figure out whether it's worth it.

Just the basic OWV.  Both times I made reservations, the Superior OWV was only like an additional $50 so instead of $150 it was $200.  I got a complementary upgrade to the Deluxe Beach villa which isn't guaranteed but I think is pretty common. We did that for 2 nights and upgraded to the OWV for 3 nights.

Is it called the water villa? Also do the basic OWBs have private pools?
