Depends on how you view it  or how hard or easy it was to get the points, again I was there for 26K per night 6 nights  and it was worth EVERY point, what an amazing resort.

Any advice on my initial question in regards to the flights and points?

A Stop over in Singapore or Thailand or both is a wise thing to do if you were never there. Tiger Air has some very cheap fares from MLE to SIN, then from SIN to Thailand has very cheap fares too.

Would it be best to visit them before or after MLE? Also looking more for Biz classes for the longer flights. And what is the typical flight from the states (preferably LAX but can leave from NYC) I'm mainly currently concerned whether I should be taking advantage of this Aeroplan bonus or not?

I would visit SE Asia first then rest up at the SR, not in a position to answer about the Aeroplan bonus deal, I would let the experts chime in, but have a  look @ https://www.awardhacker.com/ to get an over view of what points will cost you.

If you have more spg points, the least points on a great product, with great availability from Lax would be using Alaska miles on Cathay Pacific, via Hong Kong.  You could also pick up food there.  On the way back you could return via Singapore and they also have good availability via Seoul to LAX.  Either one of these would not use Air Canada miles.

Shalom!
Does anyone have any experience with spending the night at MLE?
I'm considering LAX-HNK-MLE with CX on 9/11 that lands at 845pm MLE.
From what I've been reading, seaplanes don't fly at night plus it would be ridiculous to be paying for a room at the W that late at night.
Thanks in advance for your inputs.

My BIL just did it two weeks ago for the exact same reasoning and said it was fine although "Male is definitely third world.". The Conrad arranged the hotel and transfers for him and he said it went very smoothly.

No problem.  There are also direct flights to MLE from Bankok and Kuala Lumpur if you wanna make a whole Asia trip out of it.

Stayed at some no name hotel near the airport not in MLE its self, it was ok for 1 night the resort hotels will take care of your to/from transfers.

Right now Hilton is a having an amazing Flash sale in asia...deals at Conrad Maldives and Koh Samui are insane, with 50% off...totally worth paying outright plus you'll earn so many points & you can combine with Citi 4th night free.

Sounds awesome, well done and Mazal Tov!  If you email the Conrad ahead they will be very helpful with your frozen meals. You bringing food from NY or  from Chabad in Sri Lanka?  They will also bend over backward to make you breakfast, double wrapped fish and potatoes, sashimi, whatever you like and feel comfortable with. Barry Lincoln left Pam with the chef for omelettes and I left roasted seaweed with a hechsher so hopefully it's still there for you. :)

And I'd love to see a TR!
