There are another 10k FT members on the same boat as you...
But why not using a free night certificate? I would've use 5 of them... Keep the points for another time.
Would you have to use 5 certificates from the same account to make it one long stay?  Or you can book using certificates from multiple accounts and somehow combine it all into one stay before? Otherwise if you wait until checkin you will have issues with seaplane transfer.... no?
Sorry I don't have any snarky line for this space

From the same account or the 2nd person traveling with you.
Me and my wife have currently 4 free nights, they are easy to get.

I brought POM meals and they charged per person to heat up each meal. The POM meal portions are quite large, and was enough for my wife and I. So I  heated up one tray for one person or did two trays "one starter and one main dish" to avoid getting charged twice.

We came from Phuket and brought tons of double wrapped food from the chabad. They did charge to heat up the meals, but served it on brand new china that I toiveled in the conveniently located mikva. I did the same for the new pan and cutlery they used to prepare breakfast with. Obviously everyone has different comfort levels and standards and that's ok, but that's what I did. I also brought a sandwich maker was excellent both for heating up some of the meals myself when I didn't want to pay (only paid on shabbos), and making snacks.

We also did the sunset fishing and caught several kosher fish that they prepared for us. Again, everyone's comfort level is going to be different. I would recommend being extra careful on which fish you eat as the names they tell you may not be correct and it can be difficult to tell.

Even if it belongs to a Jew you can tell a non Jew to take ownership and borrow it.
Obviously this is not ideal and ask your LOR.

What did they charge per meal to heat up? Also can you let me know who you spoke to about kosher stuff, especially in regards to breakfast?

Dear Shauly414

Thank you for your email and kindly allow me to reply on behalf of my colleague, Sofia.

Further to your request, we are fully aware about the kosher diets, and if you can bring your own packed meal / food and we can store them in our freezers and we would be happy to provide you new set of cutleries, crockeries and glassware and during the preparation of the food and moreover, we will be utilizing new cooking pots and pans.

Hope the above information was helpful and please do let us know in case you have any further queries.

Kind regards,

Ahu

Thanks! I am going to drive you a bit crazy but anyone score any upgrades here? I am booked in a reef villa (the only one available with points) but would love to get a true over water. They are asking $350++ per night

Hey man, if there's someone that's still willing to listen to me talk about my trip, I'm not about to pass that opportunity up.

I booked into the King Reef Villa, but then after that they downgraded overwater villas to the basic room so I was able to downgrade my reservation to overwater.

Honestly, I wouldn't pay extra for the over water. Wait closer to your stay and try to get moved if it's really important, but besides for the glass floor the rooms are really identical. And if you get a room on the inside of the U (the island is in a U shape) then the water will be much calmer than the overwaters, which will be better for snorkling.

Bottom line is, every room at that hotel is going to be the best room you ever stayed in.

Hey guys - looking for a little help here.

We are US citizens going to the maldives from Sept 4th to the 9th.

Is there anywhere else around there we can go before coming back on the 18th? Looks like everything else is closed to US citizens.

I don't think it makes sense for us to go there for only 5 days given the length of the trip.  We were going to Bali before for a wedding, but it got cancelled.
