Nice!

What did you do about everything there being so high tech and electronic and using sensors? STR has plenty issues with all that stuff but we were able to manage it. From what I'm reading about WA it seems its way more high tech as its much newer so I was wondering about how you managed to get around it.

Because if someone wants to book 5 nights with points to get 5th night free I don't see how its possible to do that coming from the USA without staying for a Shabbos.

Did you do a trip report? If yes, would love to read.

Very manageable. We left on glass doors unlocked and would go in and out through there anytime we needed to instead of using the main door. Besides for that didn’t really run into any other issues. Feel free to ask more questions and I’d be happy to answer. Have a recent TR as well but not sure I spoke a lot about Shabbat.

the only light sensors that needed to be turned off were the ones in the closet and fridge.
The AC sensor I had them turn off when we arrived lol
Left the back door unlocked to go in and out throughout shabbos

Yup, reading it now. Very comprehensive. If I have any other questions when I'm done I'll be sure to let you know 🙂.

What happens if AC sensor is off?

Oh ok. I'm guessing it turns on/off with door being open or closed. Nice that they agreed to turn it off.

Wow, that's amazing. I know people who are hawking WA Hilton site a year in advance to get those 5 consecutive nights as soon as award inventory loads.
Just found 7 (!) back to back in October

I heard something about Maldives restricting food on arrival due to Covid. Did anyone hear of such a thing? Wasn't able to find anything about it online.
Find anything else about this? Just had a friend tell me that the W MLE told them they won’t allow any outside food in.

That's going to be a big problem for kosher travelers.

Curious if it’s a MLE restriction or just a hotel restriction. I asked him to find out. Will update when I hear more.

I posted after Sukkos that a category 8 Marriott in Greece told me that it's a global Marriott policy during the pandemic not to bring external food into their kitchen.
They agreed to store my food in a fridge located at the concierge's office, but they definitely refused to heat it up (as opposed to the previous years).

Not sure if this is really applied globally across Marriott but it's worth clarifying in writing with the hotel ahead of time

I didn't because these dates really didn't work for me so there was no way I could have made it.
I realize now I should have perhaps grabbed them and resell to DDFers - not sure if that's something that others do?

Just did it at the Ritz St Thomas 3 weeks ago, and in Crete at 2 different hotels the same time you were in greece. They stored and heated my food.

Doesn't have to be the same level of details as your MLE/USM TR  ;)
I'd be happy with the shortened version  :)
