For a good room or their standard?
As far as I can tell, their base room is a 110sqm Overwater Villa

Quote
110 square meter overwater villa with king bed, one daybed, private deck with direct water access and plunge pool. Rate is for 2 adults.
Those looking for the iconic, overwater experiences (yes, like the ones you’ve seen on Instagram) will be right at home in the Lagoon Overwater Villa. With crystal clear, shallow water beneath your private deck (with a private plunge pool, too), direct access to our expansive lagoon, a fully stocked mini bar, and comfy bathrobes to hang out in all day, this villa is exactly what dreams are made of. At 110 square meters, this villa comes with a king-sized bed, daybed and all the Standard amenities, of course.

It’s also $332 a night, so this is a discount, not a steal (unless you’re doing the month)

Which non-reward hotels in the Maldives are recommended? And are willing to heat up food?
Thanks

Have a location booked in Maldives March 11 - March 18 2022.

Would love to fly from Miami but would be willing to go from other destinations.  Have 185K Avios and 125K AA miles.  Any one have ideas as to the best stopover and/or shortest flight to get there?  Any guidance would be sincerely welcome! Not an expert by any stretch and would really appreciate the help.  Thank you very much! Brandon

This is the quick email response i got from SR.

Sunny Greetings from the Best Address in the Maldives!

Thank you very much for conveying your interest in our Beautiful Resort for your upcoming visit to the Sunny Side of Life.

Further to your email, we are pleased to advise that we do have Kosher food available on the island.

We are committed to serving the needs of all our guests, a Kosher menu is now available at each of our six dining experiences serving certified Kosher foods and ingredients. To best prepare, you may notify your dedicated St. Regis Butler of your dietary preferences with advance notice of least two-hours prior to your reservation for dinner.

Please find below available Kosher Wines along with the attached Kosher Ala Carte Menu for your perusal.

Kosher Wines   Type   Selling Price
Celler de Capcanes Peraj Petita    Red   $        100.00    Spain
Celler de Capcanes Peraj Ha'abib    Red   $        255.00    Spain
Barkan Classic Cabernet Sauvignon   Red   $        235.00    Israel
Barkan Classic Sauvignon Blanc   White   $        185.00    Israel
Kinor Sacramental Sweet Red   Sweet   $        125.00    Israel
Kedem Cream Red Concord    Sweet   $        145.00    Israel

We would like to clarify and explain our protocols for Kosher foods to be able to satisfy your food preferences.
I emailed the SR and this was their response.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic around the world, we would like to reiterate Marriott International focus on strengthen our hygiene procedure in regards to food safety with alignments on HACCP standards. Moreover, food purchase and supply must come through accredited and certified suppliers by Marriott International Asia-Pacific. This is to ensure food safety by controlled temperatures supply delivery, HACCP certified and avoid any risk of contamination to hotel supply by non-recognized sources. Therefore, our guests can’t bring their own kosher foods to our resort.

But, since last year in November, we implemented full meals pre-packed certified kosher foods from Australia. In another hand, we have sourced Kosher certified meat from Europe such as chicken, beef and we can provide kosher ingredients sourced locally.

We do not have specific and designated area such as kosher kitchen in the island. However, we have separate equipment and procedures in place to meet kosher requirements to ensure the highest standards for kosher food as much as we can with our actual resort set-up.

I've heard the "as much as we can" before.

I just got a similar email. They also sent me the attached kosher menu. No hashgacha info mentioned - this might be where the "as much as we can" comes in...

Pathetic.
Bring a polar bear bag with ice packs. Should stay cold for the trip.

Or stay elsewhere. What is the W's or WA's policy these days?

That will fit meals for a 5 night stay? Doubt it.
But worth asking if they'll give an extra fridge though.

You really think that the polar bear cooler will last for the duration of the average 5 night trip including flights?

If the food is frozen solid and you have ice packs?
Sure.

Even without ice packs you should get a few days.

Anyone want to experiment at home and report the results?

They say it's a Marriott International policy. Not sure about WA.

I'm waiting to hear back from them about a fridge. If a polar bear can get me through 4-5 days (including flights), a small fridge should be fine for the last 2-3 days. If no fridge, can we get ice from them?

Starting to kick the tires on a future trip to the Maldives, likely using Hyatt/UR to book the PH. Are the prices below still accurate? Any other way to guarantee OVB as an Explorist?

Upgrade from Park Villa to Park Pool Villa $USD 252.56++ per villa per night
Upgrade from Park Villa to Park Water Villa $USD 405++ per villa per night ( Villa Number 38-44)
Upgrade from Park Villa to Park Water Sunset Villa $USD 610++ per villa per night ( Villa number 45-51)
