That will fit meals for a 5 night stay? Doubt it.
But worth asking if they'll give an extra fridge though.
Gotta cook up a good excuse other than to store the food they explicitly prohibit ;)

Best excuse I've used is that I'm bringing medecine that requires refrigeration... usually works for me...

Starting to kick the tires on a future trip to the Maldives, likely using Hyatt/UR to book the PH. Are the prices below still accurate? Any other way to guarantee OVB as an Explorist?

Upgrade from Park Villa to Park Pool Villa $USD 252.56++ per villa per night
Upgrade from Park Villa to Park Water Villa $USD 405++ per villa per night ( Villa Number 38-44)
Upgrade from Park Villa to Park Water Sunset Villa $USD 610++ per villa per night ( Villa number 45-51)
makes no sense to stay in the PH and pay for an upgrade, there are much better hotels out there that offer base rooms OWB

Typical hotel room/dorm fridges.
But maybe someone else has better pics?

Either way, happy I went early on when they were still warming personal KSMLs for free.

If the food is frozen solid and you have ice packs?
Sure.

Even without ice packs you should get a few days.

Anyone want to experiment at home and report the results?
I've done 2 and 1/2 days, my suitcases got lost.
The top layer of meats was cold/thawing and everything under that was still frozen

Can also rotate ice packs between the hotel main freezer and the cooler or use regular ice.

With ice and a lining of silver foil on top.
The food was frozen at least 2-3 days

I have a few Polar beer coolers but look at this! Should i be concerned they scan/ open our luggage or give us a hard time if they spot us eating?

We would like to clarify and explain our protocols for Kosher foods to be able to satisfy your food preferences.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic around the world, we would like to reiterate Marriott International focus on strengthen our hygiene procedure in regards to food safety with alignments on HACCP standards. Moreover, food purchase and supply must come through accredited and certified suppliers by Marriott International Asia-Pacific. This is to ensure food safety by controlled temperatures supply delivery, HACCP certified and avoid any risk of contamination to hotel supply by non-recognized sources. Therefore, our guests can’t bring their own kosher foods to our resort.

But, since last year in November, we implemented full meals pre-packed certified kosher foods from Australia. In another hand, we have sourced Kosher certified meat from Europe such as chicken, beef and we can provide kosher ingredients sourced locally.

We do not have specific and designated area such as kosher kitchen in the island. However, we have separate equipment and procedures in place to meet kosher requirements to ensure the highest standards for kosher food as much as we can with our actual resort set-up.

Furthermore, to provide you with further insights of our Transfer arrangements, kindly find attached our Transfer and PCR Test Details for your reference.

Moreover, as you would travelling in a family of five, we are pleased to advise that we would be able to accommodate all the members in our Two Bedroom Villa Categories which are more spacious and well recommended for families.

Should you require a detailed calculation, please advise us as to assist you further.

We await to hearing from you soon.

Meanwhile, should you have any other enquiries it will be our pleasure to assist you.

Yours Sincerely,

Ibrahim Fauzan
Reservations Agent

They say it's a Marriott International policy. Not sure about WA.

I'm waiting to hear back from them about a fridge. If a polar bear can get me through 4-5 days (including flights), a small fridge should be fine for the last 2-3 days. If no fridge, can we get ice from them?

They got back to me on the "kosher" food:
  • We have checked the details with our Operations Team and right now we are not practicing full meals pre-packed certified kosher foods. But we do have Kosher menu’s at our six dining venues serving certified Kosher food and ingredients.
  • We do not have a Kosher kitchen on the island however, we have certified Kosher products and procedures in place to meet Kosher requirements ensuring the highest standards for Kosher food.
  • We would like to inform you that in the room we do have mini fridge. Please advise the details of the food that you would like to bring so that we can check with our operations team and get back to you accordingly.
  • We use certified Kosher product from different countries and all Kosher food will be out of the normal menu. Hence, additional charges will be applied accordingly.

At this point, I think I'll stop asking questions and just rely on the mini fridge to get me through the last few days.
@YYZOGG a mini fridge probably won't work for you with a family of 5...

Looks like you can fit at least 25 packs of Aarons Deli + 15 packs of muenster cheese and still have some space in the fridge for milk.

Im more concerned about them giving us a hard time after they warned us . As others mentioned and as weve done in the past freeze all the food including fridge items, milk etc. pack in a polar beer cooler and once at the desination can keep things cold with ice from the ice machine.

I find it hard to believe Marriott has a policy against bringing your own food to consume yourself in your own room. Even more so on a special diet, singling out only kosher. Possibly the new policy is that they will not store or heat up your food for you and this agent is confused.

Read the email again he seems confused.

I posted here around Sukkos time my feedback from a stay in a Marriott in Greece. They told me that contrary to prior years they have a policy not to store external food in their kitchen during the pandemic. They offered to store in the Bell Boy's fridge, which is what we did.

But I didn't ask in advance, I just showed up with the food

No longer need negative PCR if you're fully vaxxed. Curious if this includes the 1 dose J&J
