I wouldn't worry about that.  The hotels have mostly foreign workers anyway and are on their own private islands far away from Male.
youd be surprised as to their connection to the beliefs. After i left i saw one of the workers instagram accounts and it was all pro-jihad and pro-Palestinian war against israel. (I went during the most recent war)

No, look, there is nothing to be nervous about. I spoke to my rav, and he said the same thing other ppl said, go as its your private vacation, dont go to revolt against their beliefs... youll be fine then. I wore a hat at all times, CBS i think wore a yarlmuka (he went the same time i did - during the war). The main chef knew i was jewish and he was fine with it. He actually tried every which way to make the meals as easy and enjoyable as possible under the kosher req.

Probably best seat to BOB is this way, with fully lie-flat and LAN has excellent service. Though not in the league of the MLE options.

Going there in January, taking the ultra-long route through SCL/IPC

+1 - the main island of Male is a boat ride away from airport, just dont go there.

correct, i wore my yarmulka always or a hat (for sun purposes) -

no one gave a dirty look or said anything, i even became with a Lebanese couple that was there and they were cursing out hezbolla

chefs were very accommodating. On shabbos they gave me tour of the kichens to see if anything was kosher, and they walked with me all over the island as i refused to get on the trolly

Would not do the Male city tour if I went back today...

I wouldn't either, although that's because it was rather nerve-wracking (being among so many "cousins", none of whom seemed to give a damn about traffic safety, to boot), and unlike Dubai, it's not like there are any breathtakingly major attractions to see, anyway. Unless you count 70 different mopeds traveling on the same stretch of street at the same time in opposite directions at 90 miles an hour to be an "attraction". :P

And the fact that Dubai is one of the safest places on earth

Some updated info for the PH.

Transfers are now USD 510 per adult USD 416 per child (2-11 years old), USD 156 for infants not requiring separate seat.

They've split the OWB into 2 categories, the ones closer to the end are now more expensive and upgrades to those are now more expensive as well.
Park Water Villa 38-44
Park Sunset Water Villa 45-51
(See attached map)

Upgrade costs are:
Park Pool Villa
USD 210++ per night ( Low season)
USD 370++ per night ( 21st December – 07th January )

Park Water Villa
USD 365++ per night (Low season )
USD 580++ per night (21st December 07th January )

Park Water Sunset Villa
USD 610++ per night

Two more points:

1) If you're bringing your own food, they quoted me $20/person/meal for storage and preparation.
2) transfers are through the airline so Hyatt check certs cannot be used for flights but can be used for everything else, including upgrades

I've got less than 24 hours to cancel my flight (biz Turkish tlv-maldives) so I'm hoping you guys can help me out in a timely fashion!!

The trip is for 4 nights and I want an over water bungalow. I did my research and I came to the conclusion that me and my SO could use our 2x 2 free nights at the Hyatt. There are several issues: #1 500$ per head domestic flight to the remote island, and will need to shell out another 350$ to the hotel per night to guarantee an over water bungalow. Its a ton of money!!! Are there any other options?! We have gold status with Hyatt ... So no diamond. Got points with IHG and starwoods, MR, UR and probably other currencies I don't remember...

You'll pay at least $500+ p/ night for a nice OWB if not more...

See couple posts posts above me. We are going in may (I.e., off season) so the price difference is 350$ for the OWB upgrade. I've seen this figure elsewhere. Also checks out with price difference on Hyatt website.

Are u missing something?

Your Hyatt cert is worth $200+ so you're looking at $550.

What r u talking about?! It's the free night you get at ANY Hyatt with the sign up bonus. Its worth the standard park villa (worth around 900$). I'm 100% sure about this
Here's just a couple sources but there's plenty others out there.
