I think I am going to go without the case for the z10, at least in the beginning.  Is a screen protector a must?

Are the edges raised on the z10? I gotta check it out in person. Maybe today.

Have a GNex with no case and dropped it many times. So far so good which is great as I also hate cases.
I'm also a fan of no case...

IPhone 5 IMHO needs a case, 1 drop and the screen will crack. It looks hot w/o a case ... But ...

I'm wondering what most Z10 people are doing? Could the phone handle drops (like the other models)

Currently have the Bold 9930 - I dropped it so many times - from 3-4 feet on pavement, no issues. The metal around the edges really protects it.

I don't use cases as I don't like my phone becoming huge, as well as I like to use a holster.
I put a screen protector on my Z10 only because I figured better safe than sorry.
The edge does seem to be minutely higher, but I can't say for sure.
I only paid 15% by switching to dansdeals

Which holster did you get? I also like to have a holster although dont use it as much anymore.  Seidio makes 2 holsters that work with a case (surface and active) for the z10.
I think I am going to keep it without a case for a few days and then decide

The standard blackberry holster, that goes on your belt. I bought it from the Verizon store.

A pity they aren't including the holster as they did with other models

I think it was $17.50, but I bought a "bundle" so I'm not really sure.

Thanks, not bad.

I was in a Verizon store last night, they had a coupon 30% off accessories.

I am personally long on RIMM.  I don't think BB10 will be a blow-away sensation, but I think it will help build up market share - enough to give the stock some life.
bump

This is still my position on BBRY.  I don't believe the hype.  If the Z10/Q10 is mildly successful, I think they're back in the game.
If you don't care why would you comment?

I bought in the 9's and sold half at 16, bought the same # of shares back at 12. I dont know if BB10 will be enough to save the company (I hope and think it will) but I think the company's value will be in the double digits (or pretty close) even if it fails.

NC - You prob will get much better pricing on a case on eBay, than 30% off a full prived item in a verizon store.

No?

I've used it today for a couple of hours, and found at least one thing to be extremely slow. When looking at recent calls, switching from All Calls to Missed Calls takes around 3(!) seconds. Worse,  if you "slide" the button (instead of clicking) from All Calls to Missed Calls, it takes around 5(!!! holy moly!) seconds to bring up missed calls. These are my experiences and I tried it about ten times to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Let me know if you can replicate it.
I have also had this issue occaionaly, not always with as long as a 3-5 second delay...

I installed the ATT 10.0.10.822 update and it doesn't have this issue, and overall runs much smoother
