my battery has been very good except for when using a handful of games that I could feel got the phone very hot quickly and saw the battery draining. These were not major games so i deleted them and things have been very good since then.  There is also supposed to be much better battery life after the upgrade which verizon hasnt had yet.

my phone comes off the charger at about 7am. I do a fair amount of emails, whatsapp, and bbm during the day. Spend about an hour or two on the phone total. Its connected to bluetooth for most of the day.  Wifi is always on but only connected at home. I browse a moderate amount.  Use some apps. Not sure what else.  I'd say that Im more than an average user but not nearly one of those heavy usage guys.  8pm is usually when I get the 10% battery left message, maybe a little earlier than that.

Sounds a bit better than the average battery life nowadays.

iphone wasn't a consideration for me
I am a fan of blackberry for the email and messaging aspects. If anything I would have considered the galaxy. So far I am very happy with the z10 but when the q10 comes out I may switch to that

Just curious why wasnt the Iphone a consideration for you ?

Just a  "Anything but Iphone "type or some other reason . I lean towards the Anything but Iphone myself, because I  hate following  the crowd , unless its the only fire exit , and the theatre is on fire .

I just updated to the leaked update that is on Crackberry to 10.1 onto my Verizon -4 Z10, it's working great.

One of the big improvements that people are saying is the battery life
