I have a choice of getting proofs from a photographer but, on the other hand, I have DVD's with the original full quality photos on them.
Would they come out the same if I print them online myself or should I go with the photographer although he is more expensive?

He is charging me .24 per photo. To be honest I didn't even compare prices with online, but if I'm not mistaken, you can get 50 free prints with new account from Shutterfly and just pay shipping and you can make as many new accounts as you want..

If you really don't mind the quality being a bit less (and personally, for wedding photos, I wouldn't) then Shutterfly would be a fine option. They are also guaranteed and if you work it out right you can get free shipping and free prints. There are many different promotions and codes that can help you out. My favorite are the $20 cards that Destination Maternity gives out!

 I think they do list some sort of restrictions (like can't be used with other promotions etc)  but a quick call to customer service usually clears that up pretty quickly. You do have to spend more than $20 before tax to use them though.

Yes, you might want to turn off Vivid Pics if ordering from Shutterfly.

   I'm not usually ordering huge print orders. The most around 200 at a time.

         How I get free shipping and free/super cheap prints is just by having customer service put things in my special offers when they won't go. Or adding the $20 manually when it doesn't meet the terms and conditions. They have super great customer service through chat or by phone.  But no there is no standard way to get free prints and free shipping.


             Also if you ever do get any credits to you account they don't skimp. For example I had a free photo book credited to me with free international shipping after an order went bad.

I used it to make a new photo book and added the nicer padded cover (which wasn't extra!) and added the free 8x8 that was going on a bit ago and 200 prints and EVERYTHING shipped international as it was ready.   They have great customer service !

If you're not in a rush you can wait until there's a promo going on.

a photographer told my brother-in-law thay they use the same machine as costco photo lab. Maybe check the price at ur local costco.
