Anyone stay at the U.S. Grant? Seems like a nice starwood property. Got it with SPG promo not long ago for $200.

We stayed there last August. Beautiful hotel! We got upgraded to the event planner suite which had its own exercise room! It's in a great location and there's a coffee bean a few blocks away :)

FYI they offer valet parking for a fee. We had no trouble parking (our mustang convertable) on the street - just beware of alternate side parking.

Thanks for the tips!! Was the upgrade due to status or just request? (I'm SPG gold)

It was simply a request (or pleading). We are not even gold status.
It may have been because we told them we were on an extended honeymoon (which we were.)

Anyone been at Seaworld lately and know if have the new exhibits opened - are they decent? Any suggestions for an afternoon activity for adults in the SD area?

Something about SAN and slow kosher food service.  Ralphs was impossibly slow as well.

The food at Beth Jacob was decent but as it was reported the wait is ridiculous. We waited almost 2 hours for 2 burgers a fries and chicken fingers (the chicken fingers was a piece of schnitzel that they cut into thin strips after frying it as schnitzel). The girls working there were really nice and apologetic. The reason they said why it was taking so long is because the chef considers himself gourmet and takes a while on the preps of each food. My two cents is that no one could care less about the presentation. If anyone that has any say in what goes on there reads this post I highly urge them to cut out all the fancy dishes that takes time to prepare and just make a simple bbq with hot dogs burgers and fries. If they only make those things they should be able to pour out 20 burgers every 10 minutes. As far as Raulphs goes..i read how people complained about the slow service there. There are pre-packaged food along the entire kosher take-out section there (fried chicken, baked chicken, kugel, salads, sushi). We picked up a cut up fresh roasted chicken that was still steaming hot, added two pieces of potato kugel and had a feast at the SAN Red Carpet lounge. If you just take from the pre-packaged food like I did , there should be no wait at all. We were in and out within 10 minutes.

Had I known it would take them 90 minutes to make a crappy burger I wouldn't have bothered.
