Did the same with the shul. Haven't got any responses yet.

Is the Residence Inn within walking distance of the shul?

In any case it seems to be sold out for my dates. (wow!)

Dates?
It's a five minute walk. Sheraton la jolla is I believe your only other option, about 5 minutes further (and supposedly up a big hill)

Dates?

08/02-08/07

Not even a single room avail. I would need a least 3. (I do have Gold with them, would it help?)

Searching each night they have availability. Maybe give them a fall and see what they can do for you.
What are the ages of your group? If you get a 2br suite I doubt you'd need three rooms

Thanks! I didn't think of that.

Which hotel is better between the Residence Inn and La Jolla?

The Residence Inn is very nice for families.  Call and tell them you need to be close to the synagogue and see if they'll find room(s) for you and a good rate.

The staff at the residence inn know the drill. not sure about Sheraton I assume they do though, as there are many shomrei shabbos that stay there.

I'm planning an extended weekend visit to the San Diego area in August. We're a family of 8, so we're especially looking for something family friendly.

I think I'd prefer to stay in La Jolla as it seems to be a more interesting area overall.

I have SPG Gold and Hyatt Plat. Gold level status with another few progs as well.

Staying within walking distance of a minyan is a must (for Shabbos).

I wouldn't mind a vrbo'esque rental as well.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
homeaway.com has something there i remember i once searched kosher on there site and something near the shul came up that's all i remember though

Thanks, but nothing is available on my dates.

I booked the Sheraton with SPG points. Anything I should know before going there?

Also, any ideas for the seuda's? The hotel room itself doesn't really cut it.
